Something like rainx or better aquapel will help make the mirrors more visible in the rain as it makes the water bead up - but it's more meant for windscreens, it makes the water bead and fly up the windscreen so often you don't need to put the wipers on if you're doing 70mph.

If you havent got eleccy door mirror and want to fit them (will be heated to) I know of a straight forward 'How to' I found on a Astra owners club website that I used to fit eleccy mirrors on my Astra

If your interested let me know and I'll see if I can find it

P.S Mine is a 2001 SRi and it only had manaul door mirror, and the SRi is quite high up the spec list

Sorry, but this brings a smile to my face.
A guy at work has a 1.8 Astra SRI and he loves it to bits.
I tell him Vauxhall is just going the same way Rover went with the MG badge (they just badged everything MG from Maestros to Montegos and Mini Metros too) It was just the start of the end for them.
When that stopped annoying him, I told him the SRI badge making machine broke one day and spewed out loads of badges. They had to get rid of them so just stuck them to everything.
It's not a dig, just my sense of humor.

I have a 1.8 Astra SRi - probably the best car I've ever had. Cruise control, climate control, HEATED MIRRORS, alloy wheels, etc. I got a good deal - 4 year lease, £250 per month, including servicing/maintenance and road tax.The lease is up at the end of the year. Unfortunately, leasing costs for Vaixhalls have shot up as their residuals have fallen through the floor over doubts concerning Vauxhalls future.

I like my Vauxhalls. I've had Astra, Corsa, Omega and Vectra. (oh, chevette as well and a 2.5 Senator I swapped the Astra for).
I just like winding the guy at work up.

we have a vauxhall 1.6 w reg manual but it has no heated switch for the door mirrors is there a way of drying out the mirrors?

we had a later model before which was an r reg and that had a switch for the door mirrors seems stange not to have 1 on a later model.

wonder if the vaxhall has added the swtich to another yet i've tried the air con swiches and rear view heater but nothing seems to work and don't have the manual

    ta if anyone can help

Pull the mirror housing off. Wires behind the glass = heated.

Doesn't sound like a good deal to me! £12,000 with nothing to show for it after 4 years.

i use this, i also find it helps keep the frost down too, great stuff, especially on the side windows on wet motorways

:rotfl::rotfl:At least then you'll know which replacement to buy as you are quite likely to break it on removal ;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    Lol

I love my SRi, it does have lower suspension , and a close ratio gear box as standard on the Sri which aren't on the other Astra 1.8's :)

The 1.8 Sri is pretty fast low down because of the gearing
