I got through to somebody in the complaints department. She is amending my direct debit and will 'keep tabs on the account'. I am expecting a letter to confirm this. Also, as I have had to make 13 phone calls she has agreed to credit my account with £20 to cover these costs. Lets hope things run smoothly

The lady I spoke to was very helpful, however their system is clearly failing and this needs to be drawn to the attention of somebody in a senior position. I need to compose a nice letter, anyone know the MD's name and contact?

The nice lady from HBOS telephoned OH at the office today. She told him that the 'other' department had finally managed to locate his paperwork, and yes, he was right, he should only be making a 2% minimum repayment. However, (and get this) they said they had made a mistake and sent him the wrong paperwork - it should have been a 3% minimum repayment!

He asked if they were going to send him a letter of apology. She said the 'other' department would not do that. It is almost like it is OH's fault they sent him the wrong paperwork. She said she would send a letter of apology herself.

He then asked about his claim for £50 compensation for charity. She offered a £10 credit to the account, which he accepted.

I think once the apology arrives, a suitable letter will be going out to the Chairman of HBOS.

Right, my statement has arrived showing 3% and the DD as 3%. However online the minimum payment required appears to have been corrected to 2% of the balance, however the DD amount does not appear to have been corrected. I am keeping an eagle eye on this and I hope that the BOS are too!

Oh well, the complaints department at least seem to be aware of this now.

Ok, my new branded macmillan card arrived today (they were out of stock before) and the new piece of paper it was attached to had the terms and conditions printed on them: they now say 2%.

Maybe this problem is sorted now. Maybe my next DD will still be 3% and I will have to make another complaint

My Macmillan card 1st statement was for 3%, but T&Cs 2%, yet my 2nd statement is now showing a nice 2%, and therefore £100 less that I can leave in my stooze pot a little while longer.

You might have me to thank for that change. I made a lot of phonecalls. I am sure other people drew it to their attention as well, but I had to be pretty persistant to get the complaint aknowledged in writing with a promise of action.
