Their website clearly stated at the time, and still does that the minimum repayment is 2%.

Anyone have the weblink? Martin's article has changed!

The Macmillan link no longer works. However the Great Ormond Street one does and it's terms and conditions are exactly the same at the Macmillan one's were on their web page.

Click on sumary box and it will show minimum repayment as being 2%

I'm still dealing with BOS on this issue. They actually sent me a letter appologising for their error and confirming that the minimum repayment should be 2% after I'd complained. Then the very next week my first statement arrived asking for 3%!!

Thanks. I am going to phone back tonight and tell them that making me pay 3% after agreeing 2% is not acceptable. I am going to ask them to put this right, to compensate me for my time and to put it all in writing. At least you have your letter when you need to challenge the statement!

I agree that having to pay 3% rather than 2% is a pain, but, as it is a BT and purchases card, you can spend back up to your credit limit after the payment clears each month, so you don't lose out......that is assuming that you can afford the minimum payment ok.

Yes, but you cannot let the banks get away with making the error and then covering it up. For me I could work arround it. For some that 1% could break their budget resulting in charges and/or loss of the 0% deal which could spiral their finances out of control

On calling back yesterday the CSA had clearly been made aware that an error had been made on all these cards. I asked for a written apology, confirmation that the minimum payement would be 2% and compensation for my time (this was the fourth phonecall taking a total of nearly an hour). I informed them that I would hold them responsible for any financial loss if they DD me for 3%.

The CSA was very good, he apologised and thanked me for bringing the matter to their attention (when I first called the CSA's had clearly not been told about the errors, gave misleading info and transferred me to departments that was closed) I just hope that they deal with this efficiently from now on.

This doesn't bode well then. However I have told them I will bill them if this happens to me. I am planning on charging them an administration fee of £12 as they seem to think this is reasonable if I dont stick to their rules

I still haven't had a response to my letter of complaint except for the standard "sorry you've found cause to complain, well investigate and get back to you"

My letter was sent around 23rd/24th June so needless to say I'm less than impressed!

Well, as I have BOS's 0800 number (the 'activate your card' number) I will be phoning them every couple of days to keep them on their toes.

The July statement arrived whilst we were away, and once again, the amount requested is 3%. OH has decided to wait and see how much goes out of the account and then take it further, if necessary. Alternatively, he might get a telephone call from the lady at HBOS, and they can continue their discussions.

What progress have others with a similar problem made?

I am expecting contact from either the complaints department or the CS manager who is liasing with them. If not I will be making my 13th (0800) phonecall tomorrow
