Can anyone tell me the difference between intel celeron T1600 & AMD sempron processors please?

Which would be the better one to opt for?
They are both a bit crap as low powered cpu's go. I would go for a higher spec intel core 2 duo. AMD run hot and slow in my opinion. What is it you are looking for?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I am only looking for a laptop for about £350 which will basically be used for internet browsing, emails and some office work. Maybe kids pc games for my 5 year old.

The best one I can find for that sort of price is: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164845 at £379.98

Obviously you can get cheaper models with poorer powered cpu's, less ram, etc but in my opinion it would be a false saving as Windows Vista needs a decent cpu and lots of RAM to run propally. The above, although by all means a budget laptop still is still a very good spec and pretty futureproof (not that I use that team lightly as far as computer technology goes!). :D

Whats the best price you experts can find for something like this:

Processer dual core, ideally core 2 duo.
Ram at least 2gig, 3 gig is better, 4 gig better still.
    DVD-RW
Decent graphics card that (so it will play most non-cutting edge games, such as world of warcraft, call of duty 4, doom 3, etc on reasonable settings)
    Hard drive at least 160gig
Either Svideo or HDMI video output.
Not bothered what operating software it comes with, i can install my own.

I was wondering if it can be done for £450 ish?

    Thanks!

Although you could get a decent laptop for that price, your not going to find one with a decent graphics card in without spending another £100+.
There are some good cheap desktops around though if thats what you were thinking of? This one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/167289 at £350 is cracking value and leaves you £100 for a top graphics card. Needs a screen still.

Thanks, im a bit out of date with graphics cards so i didnt know they added that much. I still need a laptop for browsing and the like, so i think i'll maybe just get a more basic model. Although i'd be interested to see any laptop bargains for about £450 with a less expensive, but still a bit above bog standard, graphics card. (I can put up with only the likes of Quake3Live/Unreal as long as its smooth!)
