What do you think folks?
Should I go for a "decent cheap" laptop which I guess will be around £400 (for interenet, outlook and so on - NO GAME PLAYING) or should I go for a higher spec used one from ebay?
Has anyone seen any decent "cheap" laptops with a blue ray player?0 -

I saw this Acer on play.com with blu-ray player for £479.99. Looks like a good deal. Acer Aspire 6930G - 583G25BN / Core 2 Duo T5800 2GHz / 3GB / 250GB / 16" / Blu-ray / Vista Home Premium / Laptop / Notebook (LX.AUU0X.214)0 -
that looks very good, BUT its one of the stupid laptops with a gloss finish... so as soon as you touch it you get finger prints/marks all over it!
Why are 90% of laptop manufaturers doing this?! Come on... its common sense to check if the finish looks dirty / holds finger prints quickly surely... Sorry rant over!0 -
Hi. I know these kind of questions get done to death, but I'm in the position of having to decide quickly, and have got a bit stuck.
Work have offered to buy me a laptop with a budget of around £300. I could argue for a bit more, but would def have to be less than 380 or so.
I was hoping to get one that I could use for a bit of music and audio stuff, so I think that means pentium dual core preferably, and aiming for a stable system.
The brands that offer dual core about that price seem to be levoro etc...I don't know anything about them, or how to choose between them. If it's not perfect I can live with it as it's not my money...but would be nice to have something decent!
Can anyone recommend a model or help me choose? Would really appreciate it.0 -
lenovo bought IBM's laptop business a while back and are one of the biggest in the world, a lot of businesses use them, they are usually very reliable and you can get some massive battery life out of them.0

For under £280, Novatech have got an Intel Core 2 Duo T6400, which is quite a bit better than the Pentium Dual Core.
15.4" TFT 1280x800 - 2GB DDR2 -- 160GB SATA II -- WLAN -- ETHERNET - 3700mAh .. SiS Northbridge/Southbridge - Mirage 3 video
It's just another re-badged Fujitsu / Advent .. in the Uniwell U50/40 chassis.. but half the price
But... it comes with no operating system.. so you either put Linux on it, or..
It comes with free shipping as well..0 -
