I like the acer. Worth getting methinks!
I bought my dad, (now well in his 80's), an acer just over a year ago and he's been very pleased with it.

    Hi,

I saw this on sale at Littlewoods direct. It is reduced to £399, but there is also a £30 reduction offer for new customers plus 8% + £3 bonus cashback at topcashback using the code explained on the grabbit board HERE

checkout price including P&P £364.46 then there is cashback of about 32.15. so net price £332.31

Asus isn't a make I've had before, but if it is any good, I think the spec for that price is a decent deal?

I'm not planning to use it for gaming but I do need speed and reliability for internet, emails and business applications.

I'd really appreciate comments from those more knowledgeable.

    Thanks

Im looking for 2 new laptops which will be used mostly for ms applications (ie Word, XL, Outlook), browsing, and some photography on one, music on the other but neither for gaming. (Both for home/office use).

My current laptop, a Sony Viao has been brilliant and I'll hate to see it go, but I'm beginning to get lots of error messages and in truth it's past its sell by date! But reviews I've seen for Viao's haven't been brilliant unless you spend a lot of money, which I don't want to do.

The other will replace OH's pc, which is now soooooo slow it drives me crazy when I have to use it. (We've tried everything to quicken it but I think it's also past its sell by date).

It's more important that I get something that is good quality, reliable and value for money than the lowest price.

I have looked at the ACER as5735z in Tesco - any comment/suggestions.

  • I'm looking at the same laptop as dave111 is above, it looks to me like a reet bargain, but any thoughts from more experienced posters would be appreciated. I think I'm gonna buy it on Friday, unless anyone suggests otherwise.

I bought it for my mother-in-law a while back and she's very pleased with. No problems, as yet. Hate to break it to you though, it was £390 then.
