I was a tiny bit dissappionted as I did ask on this forum if it had a numeric keypad to the right hand side. I originally thought it didn't but someone said it did. I can say it doesn't. I would have preferred one with but when I placed the order I didn't know anyway so it would have been a welcome bonus if it had turned up with one. I have spent so long looking for a laptop and missing them that I probably would have waited ages to get the perfect machine
If you really can't do without one you can get usb number pads for little money, eg like this (not recommending this just so you know what to look for), admittedly not the same as being attached to the laptop but thought I'd point it out just in case it was of use to you :)

After traipsing around our nearest (25miles away) retail shopping park, I've just given up looking.
Going from P.C. World to Curry's and Comet, I'm even more confused than normal!

Not one place had the same computer in of the same spec, if it had this it did not have that, and the pro's and con's of each one wore me out.

Even went into Staples after that marathon, they had about 4 on display, pathetic. I'm sure everyone was buying before Xmas but surely they have had time to stock up.

On top of that my hubbies favourite Australian Red wine had gone up 70p in Tesco's so that just about finished him off.

We'll just have to carry on booking time slots on our desk top!

    HP FM180EA/G7095EM for £369.99 - COMET

So sorry chocolateteddy, I told you it had a numeric keyboard because I was told twice in local Comet that it had. Second time was told they "take one out of the box and photograph it, what you see is what you get, don't worry". So I'm going to be disappointed tomorrow :o . DH has already told me I could get a plug in, but that's not the point, I'm still cross  .

Don't worry as I was ordering it thinking it didn't have one anyway would have been a nice bonus. I can understand why you are annoyed though, you would think the staff would know what they are selling!!Like your DH and another poster said you can get one that plugs into a usb port but I am already getting used to using the numbers across the top so won't bother. I am really pleased with my purchase it arrived on said day at 12.30 and was dead easy to set up and get online via my wireless connection that my desktop uses. Just about to try and install microsoft office now it has downloaded all 43 windows updates!!!!!!!!
    Good luck
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

Narrowed it down to 2, which would be the best or maybe some other recomendations would be great, don't want to spend more than 300.

There's not a great deal between them but I think the first one just edges it on the slightly better processor. The second has better graphics card but as you'll not be bothering with games the graphics in the first should be more than adequate.

Staples have a couple of good laptops at the moment, very similar. Just remember the website doesn't always include VAT but the prices are sill good.

if this one is a winner, whats the best way to go about buying, not familier with quidco, can i search quidco for all the suppliers of this laptop and it will show me their discounts???

This is this best valued laptop going (I know i was surprised that PC World came up cheap too). Out of stock at the moment though and the monkey on the phone had no idea when they were getting stock. Guess i'll try again later when theyve rotated staff.

Gaming laptop. You should be able to play most games on low settings on it.

If anyone can find one with this graphics card in (8600m GT) elsewhere cheaper please let me know as it would make a nice birthday present for myself.
