Need a new laptop and would like a Sony or Toshiba, but noticed that Compaqs, Advent, Packard Bell and Fujitsu are much cheaper and you get a bit more for your money. Generally speaking what would you recommend? If it helps I'm looking at a P4, 512 with 60gb not sure if that has any bearing.2p off is still 2p off!0

I don't think you can beat IBMs for sheer robustness. They're not trendy, pretty or cheap, but they're solid and reliable.0

I've voted for Toshiba as i'm biased , having got one and I love it , but if I got another one i'd certainly consider a SonySame old same old since 20080

I bought a Medion PC from Toys R Us a few years ago. It was excellent value and I'm still using it too this day. The Medion monitors are dirt cheap and work really well, excellent defanition for the price. I haven't seen the laptop in question so can't really comment on it's quality but I would vouch for Medion as a Company.0
