The Great 'Cheapest Decent Laptop' Hunt

Hi all,

Im looking to buy a laptop but dont know much about them.

Im after something for web surfing, downloading, dvd making, light gaming (the odd game every now and again but not high end ones) but also for playing movies so that i can connect it to my TV.

Is there anything you would advise I get? I was looking at these ones but like i say - im not too clued up on laptops.

It was 17 inch screen and larger hard drive.
No worries though I've shifted the one they sent me today and I'll ring them tomorrow about the one I couldn't cancel because its been despatched but hasn't arrived.

I was hoping to get a toshiba L300 11V but since currys advertised it on tele haven't managed to find it in stock anywhere except Pixmania Has anyone had dealings with them are they good or to be avoided. Doesn't anyone know where else I can get one of these from or a similar laptop with that spec hoping not to go over £350 Many thanks
