    Hi guys,

I'll need to buy a laptop for use from next summer, but was wondering when the best time to buy might be? I remember Dell having some great deals on this January, and assume that the same will happen next year. However, are there likely to be equally good/better offers next summer? Do you think it would be best for me to wait until then, or just snap up a good deal next month?

Because computer prices have fallen consistently over the years you will always get a better deal 'tomorrow'.
The best thing is to settle on a specification, get current prices, read reviews, post your spec & prices here - then take the plunge!
But if you don't need it for 6 months - then wait at least 4 months - prices will fall.
  • I am looking for a laptop for my daughter - she will use it mostly for the internet, uploading pictures and videos, and playing and storing her music.

I am looking for something in the region of 2 GB RAM and 160 GB internal memory.

She would love a pink one but my budget is pretty low - £350...or £400 at a push.

    Any suggestions or recommendations please?

Mmm well I was about to buy a Samsung NC10 but I notice everybody has put up their prices since last week...Must be a Christmas thing then they can put them back down for the sales so I think waiting until January will be a good move

Thanks for that. It's for her birthday in January so I'm able to do that!

Oh sorry I wasn't actually replying to your post it was more a general winge that they had put the prices up just before Chrismas. I don't believe the Samsung NC10 meets your criteria it is a netbook as opposed to the laptop you are looking for
