Just check out their website - look at both home and small business prices, but remember the business prices need VAT and delivery adding (business also has other order differences to home users such as no distance selling cancellation rights- apparently), identify exactly what you want then set your self a limit.
Give the operators a call tell them exactly what you have seen but say the price is above your budget can they move on the price/is there any flexibility on this price - perhaps mention a figure slightly below your budget then allow them to raise your budget to your real limit. They are always keen to get a sale. Do not buckle straight away. When I called I said the above and was offered different machines and spec, but no discount. i said that this was the machine I wanted so politely refused the other machines offered. The guy took my phone number then called back a few hours later to say they would do the price I asked for.
Just remember its always worth asking! And always remain polite and friendly
Best of luck - let me know how you get on.0 -

I posted this on Grabbit but it's had little response. Now that the Play.com RAM is going for £18 a GB, this is great for the money I think.

£330 for a Toshiba Satellite Pro T2130 Dual Core (1.86ghz), 512Mb, 15.4", 60Gb HD, DVDRW. Till yesterday there was a code for 5% off too, but it's not valid anymore. Add the extra RAM and that's your all requirements for sub-£350. I haven't seen any other machines with a processor of this spec in the price bracket.
(Much shorter lead times than the dells too... delivered within a couple of days)
Edit: zoopakev has just posted a better offer than the current one on the above thread. Same laptop but with free upgrade to 1gig RAM now on laptops direct, £330 after cashback, plus 2% quidco!

I think you'll be hard pushed to find a Core 2 duo in this price range but the dual core T2130 is a lot better than the celerons and cheaper AMDs on most of the others/.0 -

this is £50 over budget but you might find it cheaper elsewhere. it is the core 2 processor that is causing you the problem with your budget, why not drop to an amd or core?
