Mostly people o nly see/know those in their own income brackets.

Whereas I never meet millionaires, you probably haven't been out for a beer with a bloke on the dole as recently as I have :) And when I say "on the dole", I don't mean somebody temporarily down on their luck after a lifetime of achievement and success, I mean the stereotypical bloke on the dole....

TBF PN I am a fairly normal guy. My local has got a wide mix of people in it so believe me I am no flash harry. (My family were on the dole for a long period of my child hood). But you are right I suppose my "friend" circle is different now a days to what it was.
But lucky for me I am a go down the local kind of guy and only do the "friends" thing every now and then.

I am more at home with my roots than I am being something I am not. :)

PS I rarely go out for a beer with millionaires if ever, all that is work related and not representative of my life in general.

    ..

In this regard then I feel richer for mixing with all sorts of income people.

ETA: in fact now, after posting and seeing Really's comments I think the point about the local is interesting. Our local is very diverse income ''bar proppers'', and I think the men in particular are quite ''unexclusive'' in at least bar chat.

Turning the question around. What do you have a passion for? Hobby or interest wise? Find a niche.

I started off by using well known auction sites and specialist forums to establish myself. Eventually traffic moves off line.I trade around 40% internationally.

Passion for high tech audio - me and my best mate from school days can even fix ancient mixing desks using valves etc. I'll give it thought.

Out of interest, what business are you in, if you don't mind (I'll understand if you don't care to reveal)?

Country living. You have everyone and literally their dog in there.
I always find the bigger an area gets the pubs get less diverse in terms of people in them.

Totally diverse from my professional/ career background and training. Always had an interest in things military and historical. So I specialise in collectible toy soldiers and military vehicles. Not toys in any sense of the word. I sell new and trade collections.

Means I can flex my permanent part time work, and ad hoc project work, with my hobby.

Totally satisfying. As its fun and stress free. Talk to people from all over the world , customers, manufacturers with a common interest. :j

Also can mix working at home with spending time on here.

It is a good way to go for some people.

For other's I've known it to be different. The work element can spoil the love element. e.g. DH and I know a session drummer. His life has always been music, he's done it, taken the sacrifice of money to do it full time, he's ok, good, not outstanding talent wise, but a very good drummer, he could well ahve mad eit given the right stroke of luck, the right other people etc. In early twenties you think you'll be happy doing what you love forever, its all you need, I think that changes. For him the change was when his GF got pregnant I think. He can't afford to turn down any offer of work and lots of people abuse that. He plays well, but now with no passion, its work, a job he's good at, and doesn't hate, but its work.

He's just one example I give: I know lots of people like that in entertainment industry and in equine industry. But he's a good example, because DH played with him about a fortnight before applying for conversion course and asking me to marry him.
