A huge part of the sadness of this, IMHO< is that in your frustration trying to undertand others you fail to realise what an amazing communicator you are: for us to get YOU, for you to be so winning,acharacter there must be something innate in your communicative ability.0 -
What are you an obsessional geek in?
But, er, non specific internetty stuff ... and organising things and details to within an inch of their life. Project management, coordination, implementation. Is dotted, Ts crossed. Signatures all gathered. Filed, correct, orderly, accountable.0 -

Well they were never let in to my home town, but then we are talking 60,000 population.0 -

TBH, not sure where the nearest one to us is, its not a place I go.
Oh, hang on,I do I think, its at a services station.... Not sure where nearest one in a town to us is. 60,000? at least you probably have a post office!0 -

I do SEO writing, for back-linking purposes and high Google ranking. The style of writing, writing for robots, seems to suit me.
So, I've been playing around with a bit more of that lately and achieved a 25% uplift in earnings without breaking into a sweat. Which is good, nobody likes a sweaty bird do they0 -

Did I mention I am now returning to be the forum nun.0 -
There is one in St Albans = commuter belt, high percentage of high-earners, has been there a long time.
In Hemel, mainly working class area there are TWO Greggs, both packed out. No Cornwall pasty company. Don't bother opening one if your town is like Hemel cos they just won't go for it.0 -

Finally, they settled for a completely hidden frontage up a tiny sidelane, with just an approved small sign, the size and style of which matched the other businesses around it. If you didn't know it was there you'd never spot it.
You can see them here, about the 4th shop on the right (look for the tiny M sign) http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/13561919.jpg
That pasty shop wasn't there last time I went down that road... nor was any al fresco dining allowed. It just used to be completely open to walk down.0 -

The best part was (no longer live there) 14 pubs on the high street and over 25 in the town.
Mcdonalds = no, bad.
Under-age drinking and alcoholism = not a problem0 -
