Some rather narrow minded attitudes on this thread. Is it only for Gruaniad readers, or can those of us not transgender challenged contribute???;)

BTW, whatever Dave and his chums are saying, the markets seem to like it.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

you might as well take your voting card anduse it as bog roll.

He didn't say he was voting Labour? The only wrong vote is one cast for a party you don't believe in.

I keep getting flashbacks to the Hitchikers Guide books, where a race of beings were enslaved by lizards who they voted in every term. The reason they always voted a lizard in, was because they didn't want the wrong lizard to get power.

seriously, for someone who works, gets no benefits or tax credits, what cuts are we going to see? less police? less nhs staff? I don't think so. less useless teachers who can't even spell themselves? less what? probably worried about less youth centres and less diversity programmes and such tosh.

we can have 10,000 or 250,000 incompetent useless lefty social workers. they will still be useless and unfit for purpose.

i heard a radio interview and they allocate half a day to write up meeting notes from a one hour meeting?????? how can that be possible????

i read a council compensates workers for having to wait for an elevator!!!??????

the problem is that they are all useless and need too many meetings.

the people in the public sector are different from those in the private sector. they are mostly useless and incompetent.

a worker in a private office will do the job of 10 in the public sector.

    citations for any of that?

& do you actually understand anything about money or economics?
if you sack people, they no longer have a job
    = no income
    = no spending

so what are all these people in the private sector going to be doing? who are they selling their goods & services to, if no one is spending?

oh, & it takes a long time to reduce the numbers of staff by the levels people seem to be suggesting
youve then got to pay out redundancy payments
then they are allowed to claim JSA & other benefits

there would be NO tax cuts
there were NO tax cuts under the previous Tory government

now the policies are coming through it's clearer what a win from them will mean. still think they will win though.

what? that the unholy mess created by labour might actually start to get sorted out?

listen lefties, you can't keep borrowing and spending. you can't keep taking from the middle class. you are killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

think about where you dimwit policies will take us in the end. you will destroy us.

Bit I don't get is why public sector workers seem to get offered redundancy terms way above the statutary level. Is this a fair use of taxpayers money or just another stitch up?

    sorry can't citate the radio.

sack them all. and cut JSA. it should last 6 months and no more.

who cares what they do? they all think they are great and necessary and have so many "skills" surely they can do anything they want. they can start a cupcake factory? Open a hairdressers, start a restaurant or a security firm. Who cares.

In the LONG RUN - which is something the lefty never sees, it will be better. Yes, of course things might have to get a bit worse, but that is life.

there may be no tax cuts, but at least the rises will be smaller.

    .

it's quite possible. as someone who often has to get interviews and programmes transcribed it would easily take half a day to get an accurate transcript typed up. usually you have to allow a day.

for something that could be used as a legal reference later this is money well spent.
