Wow! This stuff is really useful, thanks (though I wasn't the one who asked for this information).
I usually go to sites that compared credit cards like financeglobe to check. it's nice to get real feedback, though.0 -
I convert my tesco clubcard points into air miles and have a tesco credit card which I clear each month. I also have an air miles credit card which I currently dont use. What I want to know is would I earn more air miles by using the air miles credit card or woudl I be better of using the tesco credit card?
Can anybody advise?0 -
You need to tell us how many Airmiles you get for every £ spent to be able to answer that one.0

Does anyone have any experience of this card? I would like to know what the rewards are before applying for it. They are offering 0% for 12 months on balance transfers and 0% for 3 months on purchases.
I have done a search on MSE but can not find any discussion on this card.
Many thanks.0 -
Is it still available?
I used to have one but then they stopped the cashback and I jumped ship to Egg.0 -

Yes, I was offered one 2 days ago. Were the rewards any good? Normally, I use a Tesco card but have no interest in any of their deals.0 -
It started off as 1% cashback then reduced to .5% and then was stopped completely, although I seem to remember that if you were an A&L customer who they thought were profitable they were allowed to keep the card.0

I've had a barclaycard for a few years now and recently called them to see if I could get cashback - they agreed 2% for a period of a few months.
Then I called them again a few weeks later because I knew I was soon going to encounter a situation where I wasn't going to be able to pay the balance off in full and they agreed to reduce the interest rate to only 6.5%, provided I'm spending at least £50/month. Even if I didn't spend this much and only spent over £25 the interest rate is still very low (can't remember exactly). As far as I'm aware this is for the life of the balance as they gave no time frame for how long this would last.
So I'm getting 2% cashback on a card which only charges 6.5% interest.
That's an overall interest rate of only 4.5% - not bad for a credit card!!0 -
Alliance & Leicester MoneyBack Rewards Credit Card
I've got this card and seem to get 0.5% money back on it. According to a recent statement, I spent £888.39 and have earned money back of £4.39, so I hope I have calculated the 0.5% correctly.

I shop as Asda regularily for both food and petrol (it's close and generally cheapest) and have been considering getting an Asda credit car to cut fuel costs slightly and to use for a majority of purchases.
I dislike credit cards and although I own a HSBC one it's about to be automatically closed since I haven't used it for over 3 years! This is not intended to increase my spending but simply to earn point on what I'd normally spend from by debit card.
If I get the Asda card and setup a DD to pay in full the balance each month will I incure any extra charges? I'm also trying to work out how many point's I'd recieve for using the card?
Finally are there any better options out there?0
