 I'm not a happy bunny with the Dr we just saw....a private consultation with a Harley Street Surgeon...so you'd assume a bit more understanding and support. He hadn't even brought all the notes along with him and hasn't even seen a copy of the MRI scan.

DH's already made a complaint about him.

We did however come home to a lovely smelling chilli in the slow cooker.

Did he have anything constructive to contribute?

 Pooky - That's awful -you don't need them messing you about right now .
Was it a long trip for you?

In other news I have been attempting microwave meringues and millionaires shortbread (well that was the idea ). Meringues were to use up cream as OH wanted meringues and we are having them with aforementioned cream and maybe tinned pineapple? and millionaires thing was to use up condensed milk - however I ran out of icing sugar (for the meringues) and didn't have butter (for the shortbread) - cue mad dash to the expensive corner shop and used a really cheap pan of the Landlords so now my caramel filling for the shortbreads is ruined as it has bits of teflon floating in it:o which after the same thing happened on Sunday and I ended up making 2 lots of cheese sauce for macaroni cheese - you'd thought I would've clicked - but no. Hopefully shortbread is o.k on it's own though.

It took 40 mins each way by car....and FIL had taken the day off so he could take us...he lives 30 miles away though so it wasn't a straightforward trip.

And anything constructive..........hmmmm well yes, I think you should see the Neuro surgeon at Kings...I'll send a report.

    That was it.

Everytime DH asked a question he was talked over, utter nightmare. I'm sure he wouldn't have been so rude had we been paying for this rather than the insurance company.

When I said I was a little annoyed that DH has been left for so long in so much pain with little advice he laughed and said..."well you're lucky to see me this soon, I don't normally see patients for at least 3 months"

I nearly shoved his reflex hammer up his nose.

    Yes please :D

We tried Pals Gem but you don't qualify unless you need a walking aid....which he doesn't have as he doesn't have the grip to hold one let alone lean on.

  • I was a good girl at Staples. Bought nothing and was taken for a cup of tea and toffee muffin at Sainsburys.
Can't believe how warm it is outside.
  • Hi everyone,

It's been a very long day at uni today. 7am til 9am cleaning (got told off by the supervisor as my friend happened to be coming in just as I was taking the bins out and she saw me talking to her. I'm now being inspected on Fri! ), 9am til 12pm ( ) Society of Religion workshop, 12pm til 1pm Alternative Religions lecture (which should be good), then I had to wait around until 3pm to see my tutor about the essays from last year. The conclusion is that I'll be allowed to do them this year, providing I can get a doctor's letter. So I'm dragging myself out to the doctors now, even though I'm so tired I could cry. :(
