The N900 doesn't support mms, if that's of any importance to you (though it probably will further down the line, like the iphone did)0

I read this on a developer's forum, apparently it will be on the next firmware update.
As it happens, I have never used MMS either to send or receive. Never appealed to me, never really seen the point.0 -

That aint good! I need MMS! I've just read this aswell, theres a 4 page review on it on mysymbian website.
CitySlicker, it's true you can't bash the iPhone, its a good device and has kicked all the manufacturers into shape. And it has brought the smartphones to the mass market.
Yes, the iPhone is mostly just hype, you can't actually do many useful things on it. The n900 will have a proper word processor so I should be able to use that to do some proper work. Plus since Linux is my main OS, it'll be nice for my phone to be linux aswell.
Android is also very good! Lets not ignore that, the best android device atm is the HTC Hero, the touchflow is superb. That will also be something all the people wanting to get the N900 should consider. However the HTC's screen resolution is low, screen is smaller, camera is not as good as N900 either. But the android with all these problems solved is a serious serious competitor to the N900.0 -

I have seen the N900 for £30 per month including unlimited internet, £60 cashback and an 18 month contract, and £0 for the handset itself. This is far better than any iPhone contract I have seen, and includes 32Gb storage. The equivalent iPhone 3GS 32Gb, for a £0 handset, costs a whopping £73.41 for 24 months, has a worse spec camera and not even a flash.

hi
where did you see this deal above ? as i'm also interested in the nokia n900and hope to get it when released.0 -
N900 is the toy for me when it comes out, to replace my now failing original N95.
I'd be interested in the Cityslicker info, as at £500 purchase price it'd cost me £800 over 18 months if I bought sim-free.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

cityslicker's info sounds good but i have not found this price on the net so spill the beans dude!!!:rotfl:
Also most of the APPS on the above links are for older versions of maemo not nokia's version...i think at the mo there are only about 5 apps out and what is worrying is that teh SDK has been out there since April....but maybe when the phone gets released there will be a flood of apps as the developers have had 6 months to perfect them.....finger crossed this could be a goodie...
mobilephoonesdirect seem to have the best offers so far0 -
