Not sure about glasgow but in edinburgh very few buses run. Its a core service connecting the suburbs and outlying rural towns with the city centre.

These are fully subsidised by the local authorities and free to use. None of the fully commercial services run.

It is broadly similar to the night bus services and are run by Lothian with a C instead of an N, the 22 runs to the airport as C22, C25, C26 and C37 I think. Didn't realise they were free to use- I thought they might be subsidised.

Glasgow is commercial- 9, 62, 40 etc and other main routes run- think fares are normal, but might be night bus fares.

Just been looking round the megabus website and see they are going to run services on Christmas day this year.

Is there really any need to run services on Christmas day? i feel sorry for the poor drivers that will have to work and sit on a coach all day on christmas day but bet they will be paid a bit to work it.

Haha, I work every christmas, boxing day and the new year too. People always say its a shame me having to work.

    Are they kidding!

At the Council I work for we get time plus double time for working the public holidays, and then I get the anti social hours payment and shift bonus too! I rake it on xmas day!
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

I remember one dreadful christmas I had to work ( won't say where) I was divorced and kids dad not around and I had to leave them all for 12 hrs. I had no family around to help and had to work to keep the leccy on etc they were 13 14 and 15 it was horrible. I felt so sorry for them.
It has paid off now tho as they all have a good work ethic and have done very well.
