My local Tesco has around 30 disabled bays and they were all full the other day but everyone in the shop was able bodied and most of the cars didnt have disabled badges. Hows that for inconsiderate people.
FYI - i am able bodied and still find it disgusting the amount of people who are also able bodied but think it is ok to use the disabled spaces.
Tis a silly argument in a thread about plastic bags, but loads of people have blue badges who don't need a wheel chair, doesn't mean they dont need to use disabled bays.
As for the carrier bags, we have loads of them but just use them for rubbish or when we take the dog out like most other people. Then we have an amazing system where we even re-use some of them the next time we go shopping... You should try it.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
You could always put them on your head to distinguish your muppetry from the rest of us0

Ah Freddie, you never fail to make me chuckle0 -
I quite agree that spaces for those who require should not be used by people who don't
But usually used by selfish people who think they are entitled to use them when they don't have a blue badge or just don't care anyway. Although I do think only people with genuine mobility problems should be able to use them.0 -

Really?
I parked at a large store recently (not a supermarket) which had over 20 disabled spaces - all occupied. And as I had to walk past them all I noticed that each one was displaying a blue badge.0 -

But the supermarkets people will park in them as they are next to the entrance and they can pop in quickly and pop out just to get some milk without having to walk say the 30 second walk it would take from a standard parking space.0 -

And in few cases there is little that can be done to stop them.
I agree that they are just inconsiderate lazy @rseholes0 -
I realise this thread has tailed off the original point somewhat, but I just wanted to defend the poor staff member who packed your 15 bags, as an employee of this kind myself.
Whilst i worked for a different supermarket, we had to pick the stock for the order and pack it, and get it to the dleivery bay.
We had no space in the delivery bay to pack the shopping, so had to do it on the shop floor, whilst the store was open (24 hours). Customers would always insist we were in the way, no matter where you tried to hide.
So, we found it was easier to pack as you go, at the end of each aisle or so.
Also, we had to pack by section. So, in the chilled aisle, all the dairy had to packed together, all the cooked meat together, fish together, and fresh meat together, then any chilled veg together. So in just a small part of your order, you could have a tub of butter in its own bag, a pack of sandwich ham in a bag, a pack of mackerel in one bag, a pack of bacon in a bag and a tub of coleslaw in yet another; 5 items, 5 bags. The person picking can see how stupid it is, but those were the rules.
I was so pleased that 'bagless' was now an option, but back in my day, everything had to be packed and carryable.
So, to the OP, it's not just down to one person being stupid, but rules which haven't been thought through.0 -
This thread started out as Asda using too many bags, nothing to do with being able bodied or not
So everyone parked in the dissabled bay's shouldn't have been there? and you checked all the cars for badges. You also went round a whole supermarket to see if there were any dissabled people in there!! lol
Sorry but your post seems a tad unlikely
I love ignorant people who are too afraid to attempt to start a fight other than online!
Yes it did start out as a discussion about plastic bags but you posed the question Why can you not get out of your car because people are parked in disabled bays?
I answered it and then gave my opinion (you aren't the only person allowed one).
Yes i went to the supermarket and yes i noticed alot of cars parked in the disbaled bays without a badge as i walked past the disabled bays and as I walked round the many isle picking up items and placing them in my trolly I nocticed that there werent any people in wheelchairs or with
sticks. Do you go shopping and stand in one place? No I didnt think so.
Please accept my apolosgises for having my eyes open and noticing things rather then walking round with my head up my own !!!! like you seem to.0 -
My, you're a sassy little firecracker!0
