Asda - not amused!

I usually shop at Tescos,as it is only 5 mins away and have had it delivered for the past few weeks. I thought I'd try a different supermarket, so had a look at Asda and placed an order. It has just been delivered and cannot believe the amount of plastic bags used!!!!
Total shop was just under £50 and they had used 15 plastic bags!!!!! There was even 2 loaves of bread in just one bag.
Not very eco friendly are they?! won't be shopping there again.

If you use Tescos next time, the driver will take back ALL carrier bags no matter what shop they came from

OP, you have to be kidding.

I do respect environmentally concious people like you, despite not personally caring myself. However do you really not have a use for carrier bags? I personally never have enough carrier bags, they're free small bin bags (unless you shop at a supermarket that rewards you for reusing bags, then they're up to 4p from Tesco in lost points, 0.5p from Sainsbury's). If it really bothers you then just store them and when you have enough then Freecycle them.

And is 15 bags really worse than the emissions for getting your shopping delivered?

  • next time they deliver, give them back and asda will happily take them away and recycle them for you.

How is this a rant, ok so they used to many bags but its not really a big deal, just hand them back to the driver next time you use asda
