  • Waitasec...is this just instore? That's a bit unfair, me and my boyf (like a lot of people) do our big shop at Sainsbury's online. It strikes me as a little unfair that we're not getting any vouchers, considering we spend about £200/month with them!!!

If you want to look at it from another perspective, the coupons are a means to entice you to spend time instore, so that while you're looking for items on your shopping list you'll end up browsing, and hopefully buy more items than you actually need. I'd imagine it's easier to exercise more discipline when buying online.

Also (in addition to the 'it's a bonus for going into the store' posting), £200 a month isn't really very much tbh - everyone used to be completely amazed that we survived on £20 a week for the two of us, but now we spend about £100 a week (still just for the two of us) and I don't know anyone else that spends less than about £120 a week, that's only for the no kids couples....
Do not feed the trolls please.

OK fair enough these coupons don't sound as exciting as I thought! but I quite like the idea of the Double Points and I am supposed to be buying Blueberries tonight anyway.

I will look out for them going all the way into London seems a bit of an effort for a 50p coupon. But many thanks for the info !!

It is actually a separate printer next to the receipt one.

They might not be live in your store yet, but they will all be up and running by november.

I saw that they have rigged these up next to every self service machine in my sainsburys, i was wondering what they were for. Now i know

While I was doing my shopping on Monday, I asked the checkout girl if they had these new printers yet, as I'd not got a voucher yet. I was told that, yes they had them in and as if I'd reminded her, she checked there was till roll in the printer. Once she refilled it she noticed it wasn't switched on and had been unplugged. No one around seemed to know why or how to fix it.
I was assured though, that if I was due any vouchers I'd get them next time.
I wasn't convinced but left it as a queue was building up behind me.
Can I ask, does anyone here know whether this is true or not as the whole conversation did smell like a fob off, are the number and type of vouchers issued really preordained?
(although, having read about the vouchers in the thread above, I'm not too bothered if I don't get any;)).

    It's only a game

Can you really use these Sainsburys till coupons at Tesco? Has anyone actually tried this and had them accepted?
