    Hi

I was really keen to get Merry Madagascar for my daughter too until I found out it's only 27 minutes long! It is being shown on TV in America and then Walmart are selling the DVD afterwards. Obviously Tesco have got the exclusive deal in the UK but I am wondering if it will be shown on UK TV too??

I think £5 for 27 minutes is a bit steep considering you can get full length christmas films for less than a fiver in most shops.

Just wanted to let everyone know in case people thought it was a full length film. (Am sure the kids will still love it though!!!)

:rotfl: Bless. If it wasn't written in huge letters on my statement thing I probably wouldn't have seen it either, so I wouldn't worry! :rotfl:

Thanks Lou, I thought it would be sort of a shorter thing with it being a Christmas special, but wasn't sure. My two will still love it though cos they love the full films, I'm a sucker for any sort of novelties and Christmas specials like this so will have to get it :D

  • does anyone use a gift bag rather than hamper? I have 6 DC, so buying 6 hampers is £££ LOL
    I am putting in pj's,slippers,sock monkeys,snowman soup, colouring, dvd's....
Would a gift bag work as well do you think?
Cheapest hampers I have seen is wilko's £3, or can get £1 bags from poundland which obvioulsly works out better when X6 LOL

I bought a pink plastic box from poundland to make a hamper for DD. They had them in a variety of colours and the kids can use them for storing things after christmas too.

I used gift bags last year. I saw some in Card Factory - 2 for £1.50 but these are quite big, i'm sure you could find cheaper if you shop around :)

    loupoppins,

you can put the stuff in anything and the kids will still be over the moon... I use an A4 paper box from work, which I cover with wrapping paper and cover the lid seperate.
If you don't work in an office or can't get hold of that sort of thing, go in your local supermarket (Aldi are best) and see if you can a few boxes from there. They usually flat pack them but you can tape them back up when you wrap them.

Even those half boxes which are quite small but go up at the back a bit (rubbish description sorry) would be useful, cos you could put some cheapo tissue paper in the bottom and stack he bits up :)

    xx
  • Oh thanks all! Will check out options then- and yes DC will love them no matter what packed in I'm sure! (I'm still quite amazed I have actuallymanaged to master sewing a sock monkey to go in actually !) will check poundland again -plastic box that could be reused may be good.... or if not off to aldi for boxes... or failing that gift bags it is!
  • This is such a brilliant idea! I am planning on making one for my kids this year and hopefully it will become a new tradition! Got some great xmas mugs from the Poundshop to put in it. Just got to find a nice box to put it all in!

    Hi all
I've just been and looked at the recent photos of the hampers you have all been doing - WOW is all I can say

    Well done.

I've ordered my cellophane roll off Ebay [florists are too expensive in Milton Keynes!!]
Just got a couple more bits to get for Mum, Dad and DH and I'm done, apart from the wrapping bit, I hope I can make them look as good as those on the thread

    Ta ra for now
