Dazzle I was looking forward to my Baileys Truffles too ...I do like the bags tho. It's just a pity they were so poorly stocked. I wonder if the provincial people got much better stuff in than us classed as "London" and why exactly they all differed.

  • SATC for us too although I wanted Mamma Mia I wasn't disappointed and as my friend hadn't seen SATC it was a bonus for her. Cinema pretty full, no walk outs, pleasant staff from VW meeting and greeting and the goody bags were as described by others and as already said it was one Baileys truffle which I took home for my daughter. I used the pack of tissues :)

All in all a good night out, visited a cinema I hadn't used before but would definitely go back to, many thanks to the OP and MSE for highlighting the thread.
  • SATC at York Vue - hadn't seen it before and enjoyed it. Good night out for free! Goody bags not bad - Snack-a-Jacks, little tin of Nivea, sachets of face and body creams, tissues, pen...think that was it

Went to ours last night Vue in Acton. Overall a bit of a disappointment. The film was Sex And The City. As we went in and got our one goody bag handed to us and filled the competition form in we were told by the promo guy who asked us what we voted for. He said that he had been told Mamma Mia was the overall country winner but Sex And The City was the local winner. We told him we had heard Top Gun was overall winner.

i was going to go to Acton last night, but i would have been on my own. Never seen a single episode of SATC so glad I stayed in, in the warm.
  • Mamma Mia at Vue Watford last night

Sat in our seats squirming for about half an hour (just to be polite) then left. Goody bag wasn't much cop but never turn your nose up at a freebie, I say. :D

This thread is/was about a promotion were you got free tickets. (Did you not check the OP?) The screenings were 29th oct and tonight.

I check the other thread on a regular basis but since I moved to Worcester there has only been 1 screeening (next monday at 12.30pm!) for Worcester I have seen.

  • My tickets said we were seeing Top Gun in Coventry, then Grease started playing....imagine my boyfriends dissapointed face! But we told the polo guys there and they gave us two tickets for any other film, so got a free trip to couples retreat instead! so thank you very much OP!!
  • Mamma mia at Kirkstall too - didn't get any goody bags on the way in and only on the way out - maybe that was so we wouldn't all rustle our Snack-a-jacks bag. Although this is a freebie and as such, expectations weren't that great it was an OK way to spend a Tuesday night and pretty cost free other than a couple of scoops of pick-n-mix and managed to use my all day bus ticket so got there and back for free. Found the pack very 'female-friendly' but not great for me - I don't think I need a wellwoman supplement!!! Also found it very tight that the baileys truffle box said at the bottom 2 truffles inside and there was only one in there - not sure if the promo people had nibbled them all as my mates was also the same.

Just disappointed at the choice in the end - am sure that Mamma Mia wasn't everyones favourite! Praise be that it wasn't the singalong version!
