  • Afternoon everyone! It's gloriously sunny up here today, which is a bit of a surprise. I'm pleased though, as the buses are on strike so I walked to uni and back (4 miles) and it was a pleasant walk I must say.

I've just remembered something I heard on the radio earlier. Apparantly they're 'updating' Winnie the Pooh. There's going to be a new character, and Eeyore is going to be more proactive! Travesty, why mess with something that's worked for 80 years?!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

SRM I felt exactly the same when I moved out of London after Uni..6 years living there was plenty for me!

*feels she should defend her home town.........nope got nothing*

I mean its nice to visit on a train/tube but mostly..... parking, people expense.

Its funny tho I love walking along the Thames when I am miserable! Never fails to perk me up.

I saw them talking about it on BBC news the other morning. I can't think now what the new character is going to be, grrr bad memory

I do agree with you in some ways Ames..they should remain classic stories but on the other side maybe the new stories might encourage a whole new generation of children readers rather than them sat at home watching TV? Im sitting on the fence on this one

    evening everyone.

Ames - I heard that about Winnie the Pooh at the weekend and thought how can Eeyore be upbeat - we call depressing peeps at work Eeyore, how will that work if Eeyore is upbeat:confused:

My new laptop arrives on Wednesday and then I'll be able to surf from downstairs:j:j

Before I forget, good luck to all who need it!

My mum and dad are home from their holiday and celebrated 40 years of marriage yesterday. Just need to find the card I got for them. They're going to have Evie tomorrow afternoon so I can get on with preparing Evie's meals and putting them in preserving jars for when we're away next week.
