It's very dark and very chilly here tonight - both cats have come in soaked to the skin and are now fighting for "the bit in front of the fire"....the elder is winning tho - he's 15 now and loves a bit of warmth.

I love having the curtains pulled and the fire on (I've got washing to dry as well as cats so it's not just case of putting an extra jumper on tonight)...DD's are just finishing their home work and will be down in jimjams for hot choccy in front of the fire before bed.....and that's what childhood is all about. :D

It's cold here too, still holding out against putting the heating on. Although having crap heating that's more 'lukewarming' than 'heating' helps the decision! Going out to my bookclub soon, hopefully it'll be warm there, and I'll have a coffee. Might have a hot chocolate before bed tonight though now you've mentioned it Pooky!

Thank you Beanie - it went really well. All very positive. They have employed a full time support worker for Ryan, who not only has extensive knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs, she also has a 15 year old autistic son. His class teacher also has a lot of experience with children with special needs, and between the two of them, they seem to have worked a minor miracle since the summer holidays....Ryan is actually enjoying school!

I know it wont all be plain sailing from here, but it's such a positive start, and such a welcome bit of good news today.

That's brilliant news Snags, it's great that you and Ryan are getting so much support. He seemed to be such a great kid when I met you all in June, he deserves all the help he needs.

Thanks Ames, I'm a bit stunned to be honest - last year they were full of excuses as to why they couldn't support him more, and why he couldn't get extra help, and why they couldn't apply for more funding. This year they are pretty much saying sod the expense, Ryan needs this help, so he's going to get it.

Not sure why they have had such a change of heart, but I'm very glad.

Don't question why Snaggs, just take it and make sure it works for you all. It's nice to hear that Ryan has settled a bit more and that the school are behind you all.

  • Evening folks.

Pants day. Car wouldn't start-need new battery, childminder has kids with swine flu, friend who sits across from me at work got sent home with swine flu, work was STUPID STUPID busy, had a horrible man on the phone today telling me I didn't know how to 'speak the Queens English' (and it was a 10 min phone of abuse from him), found out my lovely manager is leaving in Dec and a few other things which make me want to cry....

I just feel so sad and fed up for me and my friends at the minute-I want everyone NOT to be sad, not to be suffering or fighting for every little thing, I want everyone to be happy! And for my little car to go...

Sorry, I am having an Eeyore day.
