Hi Terra, Hi all, I hope everyone is fantastical today. Terra.. What about the & days cancellations period you get when you buy from a distance? This must apply???? Does it? On a lighter note I have fab news for all the taller curvies out there.. Long Tall Sally have as promised started to do some items in a 22 and 24!!! Today I got the first pair of jeans that have actually fit me just right for ages x x They do 34" and 36" inside legs. I also have an interesting bit of info for those of you we lanky ladies pass the cans off the top shelevs to..I mentioned a while ago I had bought a tall fitting maxi dress from Ebay that was beautiful, I love it. My close friend also loved it! Only she is 5ft5, therefor the dress would be too long. She liked it that much she ordered one anyway, took it up(and she can't sew) and it fits her perfectly x It looks great on her but we have agreed to call each other should we be going to the same place, to ensure we do not match! (It happens as there is so little choice out there.. I have been to a doo before and found someone else wearing an evans top the same as I was!!Stinks) So the shop or seller is called fatphrocks and I recommend that those of you who are not tall to have a gander too x I wish all a very pleasent weekend x x ..I sound like a pilot!:D
    Hello!

I just wanted to let you know that plus fashion is going to play an even more important role in my life as I will be working in this sector. This means that I will be following UK and USA plus size fashion more closely, and bring you the latest news on good deals!

Here’s an update to the directory section: two ebay shops, and two plus fashion news websites:

    US Fully figured fashon week
    http://www.fffweek.com/la.php
NYC was in June ‘10, LA planned for October, Canada to follow.
Here’s an article about it on the Independent: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/fashion/plussize-trend-causes-full-figured-fashion-week-to-grow-2007313.html

    US news and blogs

    UK EBAY SHOPS:
In both cases really nice clothes, different from the usual high street. Some, but not many, up to size 28/30. They don’t let you shop by size, so you have to look at all the lovely things you CAN’T buy before finding what comes in your size.
More importantly if you buy something that doesn’t fit you may not get all of your money back, as these shops have terms and conditions that don’t to comply with the Distance Selling Regulations.

Will continue to add anything interesting I come across.

Has anyone tried "Not your daughter jeans". Supposed to be able to buy at least a size smaller and they say they are really comfy. Come with a hefty price tag so was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/experience of them.
Hi, I have bought one pair of NYDJ from a boutique in Harrogate. I usually wear a 24 jean as I have one hell of a fat bum, but find the waist swinging a mile away. I bought the jeans in a size 20 long as these were the largest I could get. Yes I got them on and boy do they stretch, but I was concious of it clinging to every ripple and knobble, even on my knees! I washed them and they shrunk, they now sit in the bottom drawer of 'When I'm slimmer land'. If I had been able to get in a 22 I am sure I would have liked the fit more. I know this is not greatest of help but Thats what happened. Have a look at the long tall sally ones in a classic rise, I got a pair today and I really like them, I will wear them tomorrow and see how they wear. Good luck Jeans are hard to get whatever size you are x x x :o

    Hi Minx
my job is actually a new business venture, on 'a' site, but not MSE :). I will be selling, but not to the general British public.

The cool off period applies, definitely, but would you trust a seller ignoring it on their t&c?
Most likely they would refuse to refund, even if they should by law, and give you a hard time if you ask.
Companies doing this sooner or later get in trouble, through small claims court or trading standards.
Personally I think not worth the hassle!

PS if people want to contact the companies and ask them directly, quoting the comments on this forum, their email addresses are normally at the bottom of their listings, clicking on 'business seller information", or can they be contacted via eBay itself through 'ask a question'.
This may help them realise that they lose business if they don't abide by the law!

    A US size 14 is a UK 16/18, and anyway, it's a start ... :)

Thanks for posting the Guardian article, interesting stuff. I am now a size 18 (hardly slim I know) but have been up at 22/24 in the past, so understand how hard it is to find decent and stylish plus size clothes.

The way I read the article is that most don't produce clothing above a UK 14 (and I've seen some don't produce anything bigger than a UK 12!), but Marc Jacobs is looking at extending the range above this. I really applaud MJ if he goes ahead with this. I know he used to be a lot bigger than he is now, though I suppose he would just have made his own stylish clothes before he lost weight.

Of course finding the money for his stuff is another matter.:rotfl:

That comment from Karl Lagerfeld quoted in the article really got my goat. He used to be overweight and only lost it from having a gastric band fitted.

Poor Beth Ditto has gone from a size 18 in Sunday's observer to a 28 in Monday's Telegraph. Suspect the telegraph is more accurate. Even if Marc Jacobs does do larger sizes I doubt I'd be able to afford them, but hey it's a step in the right direction.
    Booo!!!
