well i took the plunge and ordered a motorbike jacket from JTS, went up a size or so and when it arrived it buried me, phoned them up and the lovely lady asked me to return it with a note stating my measurements and she would have a measure of the jackets they had in stock and send one that would be a better fit. she was as good as her word, and not only did the next one fit brilliantly but cos it was 3 sizes smaller it was cheaper ans so i got a refund!

very pleased and brilliant customer care

I went along to the Glasgow store to have a look at the stuff in the flesh. The Adele inspired black dress does indeed look very nice, but not £90 nice...plus I have no idea when I would actually wear it ;)

I really do like the heart print cardigan but didn't buy it as I don't really need yet another cardigan. If it turns up half price in the sale I may however change my mind :rotfl:.

I was however really disappointed in the quality of the oversized tees, they looked quite poorly finished and one they had out for sale had a large hole in one sleeve. They're not worth £15 let alone £35!!

How disappointing! There's not really any excuse for that when they're charging a "designer" premium on this range.

I'm about to try my heart patterned stuff on now. I'm just waiting for the water to warm up so that I can have a shower first.

I've got some Gok shapewear and some new bras to try on as well - now that I've done all that I have to do today and I finally have some time to myself!

    Will report back. :)

I just wondered if any of you have big feet like me? Evans no longer stock larger sizes in stores so you have to buy and try at home now(not great). But for the third time in a row I have recieved wrongly sized shoes! Talk about the ugky sister syndrome.. I rip open the packing excited to try them on and they are a too small, two sizes too small to be exact!
The box says UK10, the Label says UK10 and the inside printed in gold says UK8!.. both pairs and the previous two orders.
One pair has marker pen on it, the pair I got previously had not been coloured right and the time before that one was a different colour to the other shoe and the wrong size.
I fear they have very poor quality control at the moment, so if you were needing a pair for an occasion, give yourself plenty of time for an alternative x
Sorry to rant but enough is enough, they have me over a barrel though as I need the wide size 10s xxxx:(:(:(:(

    How completely frustrating is that?!

I have wide feet so I feel your pain on the "hard to get shoes to fit you properly" front.

Thanks for letting us know they're having problems.

I'm sending my Evans Clements Ribeiro heart patterned stuff back. :(

There's nothing wrong with the quality. It's very nice.

Unfortunately the top is a bit restrictive for me around the shoulders, upper arms and and boobs, but almost too roomy over the waist tummy and hips. (I'm an hourglass shape verging on a pear so that doesn't happen to me often.) Overall I think it swamps my shape and makes me look larger than I am.

I tried it with an Obi belt and it looked better. If it didn't pull so much around my top half I might have kept it.

The cardigan fits fine, but I don't feel stylish and confident in it. It's a bit square in shape and makes me feel dumpy. I like the neckline though.

My daughter may possibly have been right about me being too old for these things! ;)

I wouldn't be put off ordering something else from the Clements Ribeiro range in the future though, if something took my fancy.

Hi Mucullouch 29. THANK YOU so much for the X catalogue stores reccomendation. I went on Saturday with my sister. We visited the large one in Hull and a branch in Scarborough. WOW! The clothes were total bargains. Everything was 25% off and underwear had 50% off. In true money saving spirit, I obviously had to maximise the discount and take advantage!!! I bought seven dresses, various styles. Ranging from £1.50, yes £1.50 for a gorgeous dress! The most expensive one I bought was £9.99!

I also got three tops, one pair of trousers, three bras for only £1.99 each. And some other bits and pieces that I ca't remember. They have lots of things from size 10 - 32 although I did see the odd thing in size 36. Loads of choice, total bargains. I'm really happy. Thank you so much :)

    :j:j
Aw Chika, I am pleased! The prices are unbelievable if you hit at the right time - and the BOGOF's are nearly always on when prices aren't reduced. The quality is good too, not had anything disintegrate on first wash or anything like that.

I get all my shoes from https://www.shoetailor.co.uk (part of J D Williams). The only problem is they run out of my size/width quickly and I never remember to check when the new stock arrives.

I have never yet found an Evans pair of shoes that fit my feet - their sizing is very odd.

I have bought some really lovely sandals from Ann Harvey, (though just took a look at their website and they don't seem to have any shoes in at the moment).
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Did You have to pay for returningg them?

I'm so glad you've brought this up. I'm a sz 9 (wide/E fit) but have bought 10's to get the right fit. However, I haven't bought a pair of 'womens' shoes for about a year mainly because Evans shoes are so disappointing of late. Sizing is erratic and the quality is REALLY POOR. Made the mistake of buyng sandals in winter sale Jan 2011 wore them once in July 2011 and they fell apart! Also, they are stocking more PVC shoes instead of leather but a leather prices. I used to buy from Next too but need a true 'Wide' fitting nowadays. Eventually, I'm gonna bite the bullet and invest in shoes which last but cost much more than an impulse buy!.

I've given up looking for anything on the high Street. Online: Duo boots seem to be reasonable for style and fit but are def investment buys as they ain't cheap. Same story with Magnus Shoes. Pavers are OK price-wise, but styles are a bit frumpy. Not sure if Barratts are still trading (AKA Big Shoe Boutique). LTS's footwear come up quite narrow. I think Viva La Diva /Marisota/Simply B etc all req opening an acc which I can't do. Not sure about Clarks /Hush Puppies/ Javari as I haven't looked at their sites recently

I do get a bit envious when I see lovely shoes which only go up to sz 8 and dream of squeezing myself into them and hobbling down the road :rotfl:
I really wish retailers would offer us more choice as more women than ever ARE NOT 'standard' sizes. Ooh I'm all grumpy now! Where are my hob nobs????

I so know how you feel.. everything and the shops you mentioned.. I know already as you can appreciate it is such a bugbear! Thats not to say Im not grateful that you took the time.. Im waiting for the elusive magic shop that will have comfortable fashionable shoes that fit me.
You know what.. I ordered the shoes again, same ones after posting on the Evans facebook site and thinking I may have been unlucky.. Would you believe it they were again marked up wrong, they were 8s and yet again the Tan pair was damaged!
I think that the US tens are in the UK and I wonder if the US customers are finding their size 10 awfully large!?
Reall poor quality and customer service that Evans are becoming famous for, they won't last if things dont improve.:(
