    to the OP,people have lives
it may only be a few minutes to you but im sure supermarket staff get this every day.i make it a rule not to go into shops, restaurants etc near closing time.
many times working as a chef i was kept back late by people who felt closing time was the perfect time to come in and order a meal

All this Sunday trading malarkey doesn't half seem to cause some problems for people.

Luckily I was able to walk into my local Morrisons at 6pm, some two hours before it closes on a Sunday and get all the stuff I required.

Yes custardy I am well aware that the supermarket staff have homes to go but as we only wanted a few items we would have been out by closing time and we wouldn't have tried to go in any later than we did. What annoys me is that they were still letting plenty of customers go in with baskets and they may have taken far longer than we would have. They would be better off not letting any customers in at all after a certain time. I have worked in jobs myself answering calls and yes it was annoying when people rang at the last minute but it was just part of the job.

Why did 1 of you not go in and 1 stay with the kids? that woud have been the sensible thing to do. I think it's common sense not to let people in with trolleys so close to closing time. I think you are overeacting, especially when you could just have nippd in and out yourself with a basket in a matter of minutes

So only people with kids can spot bad parents?

I should go back to your own planet if I were you, love. This one clearly isn't working for you ;)

Ok; so one of you walks in, grabs a basket, grabs your items and the other saunters back to the car; and nice and slowly puts the kids into their seats and by the time they are in the other parent is back with the items.

    Simples.

Have any of you seen Bob and Margaret the Supermarket episode where the childless main couple lecture a woman in a supermarket about her parenting skills and the dispute that ensues? All sounds very familiar...

Please do tell how you spot a bad parent then iamana1ias? couldn't possibly be a child with autism/adhd/aspergers etc,etc
or someone just having had a long stressfull day with their kids.
Sadly you will never know how hard it is to be a "good" parent as you have chosen not to have children, how can you possibly judge people on something you obviously know nothing about.
Don't resort to petty insults, just makes you look like a badly behaved child!!!

    How splendidly condescending!

Didn't you make the right medical decision, though - good call, that.
