Please do tell how you spot a bad parent then iamana1ias? couldn't possibly be a child with autism/adhd/aspergers etc,etc
or someone just having had a long stressfull day with their kids.
Sadly you will never know how hard it is to be a "good" parent as you have chosen not to have children, how can you possibly judge people on something you obviously know nothing about.
Don't resort to petty insults, just makes you look like a badly behaved child!!!
I actually know quite a lot about autism/asbergers/Adhd and bad parenting (I work in a pupil referral unit) so yes, I'd probably spot that there might be something wrong. Funny how those nice neat labels are bandied about so freely these days. When I was a child they were barely recognised.
I have very long and stressful days most days. Not sure that they justify kids being allowed to run wild in supermarkets??
By the way, I may have rendered myself unable to bear children, but it doesn't mean I can't have themI was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
of all the things tesco do badly, this isnt one of them.
its usual store policy (elsewhere) to not let people in past 1/2 hour to closing, let alone with trolleys.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

Yeah of course you work with kids, you would say that so it looks like you have some kind of idea what your talking about. You can't always spot when a child has special needs if you really did work with children like this then you would know that and you also wouldn't try and make out that all people use these conditions as an excuse for bad behaviour!
Anyway that's not really the point of this thread so I think it best for you to start your own thread with your views/experience of bad parents and bad children, (good luck with that)

(how does that ^ even make any sense!!! how would you having a stressfull day have any bearing on other peoples kids?)0 -

Nah, really think you made the right choice, spare the children...0 -
Oh honestly - why do threads on certain subjects always descend into personal insults? The entire crux of the matter is not about children, it's about common sense. If there's two of you and you need 4 items of shopping near closing time, then it's a case of the bleeding obvious that one stays in the car with brood whilst the other nips in. I dare say it would take less time for 1 person to pick up 4 items and whizz out via the self-serve tills than it would to get 2 kids out of a car, convey them to the trolley area and get them strapped into a trolley.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

This afternoon we arrived at Tescos 10 minutes before closing. We only wanted to buy 4 items but as we have a 3 year old and a 1 year old we wanted to take a trolley in and the kids were sitting in the trolley. We were stopped at the door by a security guard who said that we couldn't take a trolley in as it was near closing time. We pointed out that we only were only using the trolley to keep the kids in check, not because we wanted to do a big shop but he insisted that this was the policy. There were plenty of other customers still going in with baskets. If we had put the trolley back and gone in with our children and let me walk around it would have taken us twice as long to get round so we turned back in disgust and went back to the car.
As I said we only wanted a few items and were planning to do a big online shop at Tesco during the week, but am now sorely tempted to try Asda or Sainsburys instead, even if it does mean missing out on Clubcard points
Just been looking on Tesco's website but can't find anywhere how to email them. Does anyone know?
Also I wondered if it's just this particular store that has this policy or whether other Tescos do the same, does anyonne know?
Try writing a personal letter (marked personal) to Mr Terence Leahy - I did this, got back a reply signed by him, the problem was resolved and I got some vouchers.
I didn't do it to get anything - but I was so hacked off with Tesco staff I wrote to him anyway.
I have had this hassles with trolleys and express checkouts - only a few items, under the limit but we need to use a trolley and cashiers shout at us to go to another till!
I usually kick up a fuss and demand they get the manager.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

if their parents can't be bothered to control them, cages should be available to protect the rest of us from the little brats
"Whilst I was standing still" I think you'll find. Were you absent that day?
Why are you standing still in the supermarket anyway?0
