Woooo - I have been scrubbing with bleach and a toothbrush for all its worth :o

Bathroom, en suite and cloakroom all done to acceptable levels. I ran out of viakal (and have no vinegar in to substitute) so I could do with another go on the shower door tomorrow, but I managed to make enough of a difference as it is for it to be noticeable, so I count that as a success!

I also threw out some more clothes that I won't ever fit in again - this whole business is about a lot more than just housework, for me it is a bit of a life laundry, so I am very grateful that it seems to be working so far!

There are a lot of poorly people about, I hope you and yours all feel better soon.

Please can I have a star toots, for today's efforts? :D

    evening all

Just popping in to say hi. Feels like it has been a very long week! I'm off tomorrow but at the Drs at 9am as still having a lot of sinus headaches and my glands are swollen :( and then I'm at the hospital at 10.15am seeing the endocrinologist, will see what happens there!

I've been struggling with my energy levels so not much flying has been done, will try and catch up on Sat with help from DH. Now have my feet up watching a casualty off the sky+ box.

Hope everyone is well, hugs to those who need them - sorry I haven't had chance to read through the thread

istar - tamiflu really not necessary, it only shortens things by a day or two. Best bet is paracetamol for any temperature and lots of fluids.

Thanks Rach. Will pass this on to OH - he's reluctant to take it to be honest.

(And I'm slightly relieved that it isn't necessary in the event that I catch it, what with still breastfeeding and all).

    Cheers

    Don't forget

    icon4.gifThread Subscriptions
    Hi folks,

We've been experiencing some slowness on the Forum recently and one of the things we've been able to track it down to is the huge amount of thread subscriptions that we have to deal with, some of which date from the instalation of vBulletin, over 4 years ago.

In the old days, all users were automatically subscribed to every thread they posted in and it's this legacy that's causing us the problems.

    So, to solutions:

    1. From 10pm this Thursday, October 8th, we are taking the Forum down for an hour to delete a large number of old subscriptions - every thread that hasn't been updated for 6 months of more will have it subs removed.

    2. We are going to switch everyone's automatic thread subscription setting to "Do not subscribe". If you want to change this,. you will need to go into your User CP - Edit Options - Messaging & Notification section and change the setting back.

    3. We are considering setting a subscription limit to try and minimise the resource this consumes but we'll make that decision after we've done the deletion and see where that gets us.

We hope that this operation will give us back some resource without having any major negative affect on users.

if you have any questions, please let us know.

Thanks Pigpen. He's pretty rough at the moment, temperature and sore throat - also quite a cough. But, I'm pretty sure that if he takes it easy for a couple of days then he'll be OK.

Getting him to take any medicine is a bit of a trail...I don't think he's even taken paracetamol yet!

    Thanks for the advice!

When my lot had the SF (me included!) it was three days of temps and horridness then recovery after another couple. The only one we got Tamiflu for was DD's ex bloke because his temp went over 104. Manage the temps with paracetemol etc., lots of fluids and eat soup when slightly hungry and they will be fine. However, if they have any underlying health problems like G&B's LO then I would get the Tamiflu for them
