I'm making progress :j
I am fairly much shattered after another long day at work, but I am glad that I didn't use that as my usual excuse not to do any housework, and as a result my bedroom is already looking a million percent better. I have been ruthless over the last couple of weeks getting rid of clothes that are past their best, or which I have finally had to accept I am never going to be thin enough to get into again......so my wardrobe and shelves are much less cluttered too. I even threw out all the "not fit to be taken to hospital in" underwear, and treated myself to some more presentable knicks from M&S today........
I boxed up the photos that were overspilling and have hoovered the floor of the wardrobe which probably hasn't seen the light of day for years!
I've just got to deweb and clean the windowsill, and hoover the landing, and that will be me done - aiming for my second star of the week!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Soappie Well done getting the floor finished. Congrats to DS and DIL for finally managing to get their flat.0 -
Hi everyone!
Jassi -81 pairs of shoes plus trainers and boots? Blimey, I think you should be locked away for your own safety :rotfl:
Sammr, have you tried looking inside your duvet covers for the missing pillow case? I sometimes find missing socks that have somehow worked their way into the duvet covers
Dusty your post about the Queen having the hump and removing her sock had me in stitches because I was imagining the real Queen stomping around Buckingham Palace with only one sock on :rotfl:
I have been up since 6.30 am and only sat down again at 7 pm so I am absolutely shattered. Have done no flying but have done the following: fed and cleaned my hens, done last night's washing up, fed my neighbour's cat, hens, rabbit and lovebird, walked my dogs, made sandwiches and flask for lunch, gone to work for 3 hours, gone to visit old lady I see every week, done her shopping, done my shopping, walked dogs again, let hens out and tidied their coop for half-an-hour, fed my neighbour's cat, hens, rabbit and lovebird again, cleaned up cat diarrhoea from litter tray and cat vomit from rug, fed my dogs and finally have collapsed in chair to nurse a warm laptop!
Might stir myself in a minute and go and deweb the kitchen window. I have three spiders in residence up there and have noticed one of them has created a little egg nest. Last time this happened I kept forgetting to clean it away and (ARACHNOPHOBICS LOOK AWAY NOW!) ended up with hundreds and hundreds of little spiderlings absolutely covering the kitchen ceiling. It was like a scene from a horror movie and myself and my then lodger had to take it in turns to hoover them up whilst screaming and clutching at each other for support :rotfl:This is not something I wish to repeat!
Hope everyone is having a good evening. :beer:Aspire not to have more but to be more.

DH has also started to do the odd job like emptying dishwashers and putting loads of washing on, as well - without being asked.... How long the help will last, I don't know....but I'm planning on encouraging it to last as long as possible....

DS1 is busy with 2 paperrounds, GCSE prep and socialising, but I'm trying to train him to look after his own space and stuff, and to put things away, rather than just down somewhere. It's a work in progress... He's usually happy to help, but difficult to pin down, as well as being a first class time dawdler.
DH doesn't get in until almost 6pm and he is out every night, usually from around 8.30. He works Saturdays and considers Sundays to be 'his time'. He might have an hour with DS2 in the morning and sometimes we are out in the afternoon, but he's in the club at lunch times and in the evenings. He irons Tuesday evenings or on his Thursdays off, but that's about it. If I want help with anything else I have to ask - then he will do it. I don't think he's quite made the link between the dishwasher and dirty dishes, though, since they are usually stacked on the worktop.
If that sounded like a bit of a rant, I apologise. I sometimes feel as if everything is down to me and I'd like to pass on responsibility for something to someone else in the family.
Some couples have an inside/outside split of jobs or find other ways of dividing up what needs doing. We may get there yet.
I didn't mean to make him sound like an ogre.0 -
Evening All :hello:
Mrs B so so said, so so done. ( Caribbean expression - no sooner said than done )
Soappie, once again, a woman on a mission. Good for you lady. You must be very pleased with your efforts.
Toots as ever, (((hugs))) and squeezes to you babes. Hope your tube is better now, :hello:
Well, we are now the proud owners of a Wii Fit... what a laugh. Watching DD3 trying to Hula Hoop was a not to be missed moment!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: hilarious!!!
DH is currently tight rope walking! I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't sitting here watching it happen!!!!MMSSB Club Founder Member

Came home feeling chuffed - cooked tea then hubby grumbled about the state of the lounge.....'I'm not standing for it' was his comment.....well of course he wasn't - he was sitting down - as per blooming usual!:mad::mad:
I know it's not funny, but this made me smile. I usually get 'I've never known a house like this!' when DH has fallen over something - usually DS2's toys.0 -

Yep, looked in there I always wash them buttoned up to stop that happening! Just so frustrating we only own 2 quilt sets in our new bedroom colours and the other set is currently on our bed! Our TD is still at Oh's mums being stored in her garage til we find somewhere for it to live so everything has to go on airers when weather is like this! I don't want purple bedding in our brown/cream grown-up bedroom :rotfl:I suppose they say u always lose something when u move and thats what we lost!:mad:Total Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220
