One bag of rubbish in the wheelie bin, and another bag of things ready to go to the charity shop.

All three levels done, so please can I have a star, toots :D

I've got a headache now from all the dust that I have disturbed.........

Mrs Chaos, I am right there with you on the "splitting of chores" thing - in my house no one seems to do any of it willingly........perhaps I have not been the best role model on that issue, but I do WANT a tidy house - everyone else seems quite content to live in squalor!

DS1 is busy with 2 paperrounds, GCSE prep and socialising, but I'm trying to train him to look after his own space and stuff, and to put things away, rather than just down somewhere. It's a work in progress... He's usually happy to help, but difficult to pin down, as well as being a first class time dawdler.

DH doesn't get in until almost 6pm and he is out every night, usually from around 8.30. He works Saturdays and considers Sundays to be 'his time'. He might have an hour with DS2 in the morning and sometimes we are out in the afternoon, but he's in the club at lunch times and in the evenings. He irons Tuesday evenings or on his Thursdays off, but that's about it. If I want help with anything else I have to ask - then he will do it. I don't think he's quite made the link between the dishwasher and dirty dishes, though, since they are usually stacked on the worktop.

If that sounded like a bit of a rant, I apologise. I sometimes feel as if everything is down to me and I'd like to pass on responsibility for something to someone else in the family.

Some couples have an inside/outside split of jobs or find other ways of dividing up what needs doing. We may get there yet. ;)
I didn't mean to make him sound like an ogre.

oh I so know how you feel! Oh plays cricket ..so his commitments start in March with nets...then through to September playing 3/4 days a week and now he's organising the awards......

My life changed completely when DD1 had a really severe relapse of her ME in April last year - since when my main role for her is that of carer. I take her breakfast...draw back her curtains, put her telly on....once a week I blitz her room whilst she showers....although initially I had to help her shower.

I do most of her shopping - although she does some online. Her best mate left for uni a couple of weeks ago - and DD1 put together a carefully chosen hamper of presents - but who did the legwork buying it? Me! And said best mate has a birthday coming up - so I have been helping DD1 with the purchases.....but there aren't 36 hours in a day! Tomorrow I will be posting the parcel on my way to work.

After having a bath this evening I did a s&s on the bathroom..and have just ironed DH a shirt - not that he deserves it! I moved the ironing board into the dining room cos he was watching Soth Park - and I hate it! After I'd got it set up he went to bed!!!!!!:mad:

He promised to help more at home when DD1 became very ill - but he seems to have forgotten - he became cricket treasurer this year!!!! More stuff that isn't family related!

I'm off to iron the uniform - and then I'm off to bed!

Sorry for the rant - thanks for listening!:A

Can agree with being the only one to do anything in the house,my kids are worse than useless and OH is always on tour ...when he is home that is time off so he does nothing at all...also looking after my grand daughter for 3 nights and four days a week..dont get me wrong I love having her but she is only 12 weeks and takes up a lot of time....

My perfect LO has been a nightmare for the last3 days... havent a clue why.. it is so not like him..but his Excema is pretty bad at the moment so have creamed him up and put all his wraps on tonight...oh well hopefully he will be good tomorrow...

Ohhhhh... lucky you! I've been trying to grow butternut squash for two years now, without any luck....

My favourite recipe is Red Curry Chicken with Butternut Squash and there's a fab recipe for it here: http://carascravings.blogspot.com/2008/10/crockpot-red-curry-chicken-with.html

Works well with most orange squash: I'm going to use it for the pumpkin insides at Halloween...

    Hello flypeople!

piggers/toots please could you re-add me to list I AM BACK WOOOOOOO
    :xmastree:
Is it still the Christmas tree, did I get it right ???

So how is everyone ? What have I missed over the last 6 months ??

    My update:
Gave up work in December, think you all knew that.
Can't believe that is now 9 months ago, where has it gone ?! How did I ever fit it in!!
DS is now 6 and in Year 2 and getting on ok though as major attention issues so we are having a paediatric assessment done, appointment in November.
DD1 is almost 5 and started Reception full time in September. She is loving it but so tired!
DD2 is now 2!!! Can you believe it! She is still an asbo-child though, a real handful, I think she thinks she too is 6. But she is cheeky, lovable, adorable, just the best!!
Her big thing at the minute is singing:
"a , b ,c , d ,e f, g , how I wonder what you are, old mcdonald had a farm , point to the ceiling point to the floor " she does her own remix of everything - bless :)

I am ok but not too cheerful at the moment.
Still struggling with the weight and feel that this has a downward spiralling effect of fatigue and lack of motivation and general feeling of blaaaness.
House is suffering for it as I cant be bothered or motivated to do much.

So I thought coming on here again and trying to follow the lists a bit might help.
Looking forward to some flying and chatting :)
