    Hi everyone!

:TThanks pigpen, soappie & toots again this week for the thread! :T

Also a big thanks to pigpen for the reminder a few weeks ago on the list to book a boiler/fire service. I booked one at the time for last Friday, only to find at the last minute that the gas fire wasn't working. The engineer managed to fix it during the service, just in time for the cold snap yesterday - so thanks for the timely reminder:T:T

Monday Madness ~ Living room, Hall and Stairs
    :j:jALL DONE:j:j

Have also found out from Docs appointment last week that the headaches that I've been suffering from for years are actually migraines. So I'm on beta-blockers now, to see if they help. Any fly-ladies had any experience of this treatment for migraines? Would be very grateful of any hints & tips.

    good night everyone!

    Evening

I think I must have had a one day weekend this last one as I lost Sunday somewhere between Friday and Monday (but then I managed to have a glass or 2 Saturday evening and seemed to have a hangover before I even went to bed :o)

It was work today and I was late as usual and busy today.

Tonight has mostly been taken up by clearing the kitchen after DH cooked a roast beef dinner.

Then I bathed the dog  so at least the house will smell a bit sweeter once she tops tearing round!

I'm not starting todays list now as DD is in bed and DH kindly put the hoover away today while I was at work (I had made a start on the Hall stairs and living room over weekend) so it hopefully wont take too long tomorrow.

Thanks Piggers, Toots and Soappie for the list

Watching Queen Victoria has turned into a full time stressful job. It is being done in shifts. OH's shift lasted 5 minutes when he screamed she is half way out the catflap - and why was she by the catflap?!!!!

She won't wear her collar, she won't let me cover the stitches - this is a nightmare I am so stressed and then I think of poor mudders and it is her child who is ill!

I have never ever used those collars on my cats they find them so distressing it is just cruel.. so long as she isn't chewing the stitches it is fine.. if she does.. bandage it!

Is there anything you can put in front of the cat flap so she can't get out and the others can wail to be let in.. or just close a door between her and the cat flap.. ours locks so the tiddly mogs can't get out and the bigger one yowl to come in/out

The vet will have done an anaesthetic injection so it won't be hurting her.

MissHiggerty - our house is a former bakers, we have the arches for the bread oven chimney, but sadly no bread oven. We do find some really 'interesting' animal skeletons in the walls

Oooh! How exciting! What kind of skeletons?

We didn't know we had a bread oven until I was cleaning (a long time ago....:o) with the hoover attachments and clonked what I thought was a blackened beam rather hard; and it dropped out of the wall.... 11.gif. Turned out that it was the 'door' of the oven: a great piece of charred oak about 9" thick which they simply wodged into the opening. The oven was packed, floor to ceiling, with newspapers and magazines from the 1950s. I think that they read them, and just stuffed them into the oven space! Clearly NOT Flyladies!

We had a massive decluttering session, and discovered the oven pretty much intact: it's built like a beehive inside. We also found the cast iron 'peel', but it had no handle - just the shovel part. It weighs a ton: I can hardly lift it.

We put the pumpkin inside at Halloween and light it, and turn the lights off ....! Spoooooooky!!!!

    Valli:
"it's finding the -erm- spider poo that leads me to look up and find the webs - usually near my front door t:obh as it's used so rarely your ladyship

(cos you MUST live in a Castle Miss H)"

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No - it's three farmworkers' cottages (1 up, 1 down) knocked into 1. So we have 3 inglenooks, 3 front doors to the outside, 2 staircases, 2 halls...

But I quite like the sound of 'Your Ladyship'. Hmm. Lady Higgerty, anyone? ;)

"and it's a VERY good job our resident arachnaphobic is across the pond and far away from your visitors."
Yes - sorry Greenbee and hope you are having fun....

Toots: thanks for all the support, and I hope your tube settles down again. I'm really determined to get this Living Room star this week, even if I get nothing else, 'cos it will make such a difference....

Love to everyone (sorry about the job Holly)

Here's what I managed to cross of the lists today. I also loaded and unloaded DW, ironed kids uniforms in the morning, dried more washing, made lunches for DS1 and me, cooked tea, S&S kitchen after tea, made doctor's appointment for DH, bathed and read with DS2... I think that's it.

As expected, school was open today, but more and more kids seem to be off sick. I need just one day to get on top of things...:o Just wish I had met you ladies earlier.

Hope you all have a peaceful night's sleep. Good night.

MUST DOS BEFORE FRIDAY TEA TIME
    1. clean the main bits of the bathroom, incl the floor
    2. declutter and mop the kitchen floor
    3. declutter a chair in the living room, and
wipe the fire place - done
    4. tidy the dining room to the point where we can use it
    5. clear my stuff out of DS1's room (it used to be our bedroom) and ideally finish painting the walls
    6. declutter the floor and desk in DS2's room
    7. dig out the home insurance documents and claim for the stuff in the freezer, if possible not worth it, due to high excess
    8. get the freezer repaired (fingers crossed) – have got phone numbers, will call tomorrow (better from work without DS2 interrupting)
    9. write a list for DH to work through on his day off (Thursday)
    10. put clean and dry washing away
    11. wipe freezer inside and out done
    12. clean walls, skirting and floor behind freezer done

I can still hear you all!

Off out to eat. Will try to stay awake and catch up properly later!

But I have been to the gym for an hour and a half this morning, and a swim this evening

Hugs & vibes all round. xxx
