like i said its my opinion, i unlike others though have not allowed my opinions to influence factual information to help the op
as for your comment on not getting a partial refund because of the agreement, thhats not true, SOGA applys all sales of goods including those bought on credit or conditional sales.
So the op has that option or a full refund via section 75 as this is a credit agreement (assuming havnt supplied the credit themselves).Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

as for the yellow light, it indicates a "general hardware failure" so is used for multiple issues.

read that as it coincides with my posts and you will see how bad the 360 is if somehow you have not been on earth for the past few years and have not seen the millions of posts, threads, blogs, and reports on RROD.
I've got all three. The wii's the only one that broke down, oddly enough, 3 days after it arrived.
The PS is a decent media player, but christ, it suffers from awful ports.
For overall quality, my favourite is the 360. Luckily mine's still alive after 3 years.0 -

Im sorry but i dont see your first post as being factual?
And you now have completely gone agaist your own opinion
And im still waiting for me being cheap to be taken backand you have no case tbh unless you are willing to get part exchange which by now will be next to nothing. you have no right to an alternative product.

my first post was factual in the fact that your options and many many others options include and are pretty limited to putting up with it and getting a partial refund. or as i later mentioned you could claim under section 75 as this is for credit agreements as well as credit cards (i did actually breifly forget this when i wrote my first post but the partial refund or putting up with it still stand as legal rights!).
i havnt once gone back on myself, the info i have given you is your consumer rights for this situation, and although my personal preference and bias was in my posts, it sadly does not affect your actual rights and so i have given you your real rights regardless of what i think which is more than i can say for others who dont even give you consumer rights and just wish to argue over opinions.
i have no doubt you will continue this thread in search of rights that dont exist
my advice go the s75 route and contact the creditors and request a form t claim back the full amount, then use the s75 section on this very website to give you more info and advice.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

And the Wii is cheaper than an x-box so I don't know how you can call x-box owners "cheap".
The problem with the current watchdog series is, that it is trailer trash TV, thinly disguised as a consumer help program. This particular episode you refer to was quite possibly the worst piece of research I have ever seen on TV.My farts hospitalize small children

I thank you for telling me my rights i agree you are the only person really trying to answer my question, but legally if this went to a small claims court would the history of the 360 be deemed as my fault? for not researching a problem that should not be there? i dunno not that im saying ill take it that far just makes a good arguement statement when pressing my issue to currys?
As for your thread being factual well.... i have kinda misled you on that by putting the wrong time down it wasn't 2 years ago we are talking 3 ( how time fly's lol. ) so at the time there was no alternative on the market, after some research ( like i said i planned to spend some good old fun doing ) the 360 had only been released for 6-7 months when i brought it. and i have to admit someone like me who is not so savi on the matters didnt even realise the issues with the 360... and on to post
If that is a factual comment then surely every 360 owner has a special case? im sure paper weight was not on the list of things 360's do?sorry if it sounds harsh but do you really think you have an extra special case over the millions of other who bought that very large useless paperweight?
Yes now! maybe not so much at the beginning? watchdog and the likes didnt pick up on this straight away well not in the time i had brought it.. but i will let you off this one as you didnt know my situation correctlyits a VERY well known issue
Wow cool i can get a part exchange just what i wantedand you have no case tbh unless you are willing to get part exchange which by now will be next to nothing.
err you just said i could?you have no right to an alternative product.im afraid you have to put up with what you have bought
but you just said i could get a part exchange ?
So is paying £349.99 for a console cheap? ok its not £425 for a 40gb PS3 but i hardly think £349.99 for a console can be classed as cheap? reallyin my very bias opinion, its what 360 owners deserve for being so cheap.
Now hang on you just told me i had to put up?but as i said the legal unbias view is your only hope is keep at the replacements or get a possible very small partial refund to put towards a new ps3 that will last you 10 years.
Im sorry i dont see your reply as being factual more conflicting?

Not consumer rights but a suggestion for the OP.
If you use the 360 more for streaming video than games then you could look into getting a media box and cheap external hard drive. I did this and in total it cost me about £70. I also have a soft modded xbox but ran into issues when I had put more than 250 gig of stuff onto it causing the hdd to corrupt. I think there is a solution but I just chose the media box rout instead. The external hdd I got is 400gig wich is loads. The media box is an emprex one which is small, very quiet and easy to use provided your video files are tidy and kept in order. Another benefit is you dont need a loud computer or xbox 360 running in the background when using it.
@ hudson - the only reason I chose a 360 over a ps3 was for some of the games which are exclusive to the 360 such as Halo 3, Gears of war and Fable. This doesn't make me cheap and so far the games line up on the PS3 has been less than stellar (talking exclusive to PS3). However I might still get one for the bluray capabilities, unless I decide to just get a standalone br player.0 -

i have looked at the currys website and the price of a Xbox 360 elite is £199 which is considerably less than the £434.00 i have credit with them, but would 100% take that amount in a part exchange. then i can either add the extra for a PS3 or go for a WD TV HD media player + external HDD for no extra cost..
All i need to know is regardless of the 360 "history" legally can i demand this and what best things should i say to try and make it happen? i really dont care that the 360 maybe cheap and i get what i deserve cuz im sorry thats just bo**ocks
No one deserves this and why does this not come down to "fit for purpose" like other things ala "tv's" "fridges" etc etc just because the words Microsoft enter this thread its classed as my fault?0 -
You can ask for a replacement, but they can insist on a repair.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
