I had one recently from 07516 061 127. I ignored it and I haven't had anything since. I've also never had a car accident.
I agree with those of you who said not to text STOP. It's wasting your time and money and alerts them to the fact they have a live number.

Agreed, unfortunately it is an O2 number, but fortunately, since the two that I had that day, I haven't had any more messages. It's a pity these messages can't be identified somehow and stopped before they reach our inboxes.0 -
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I completely understand the frustration this causes, I've receieved spam messages before and they certainly aren't much fun.
We normally refer to these messages as Text Info, in which case texting Stop will stop the service however, Text Info are normally sent from a 5 digit number. We can also put bars on your account to restrict these being sent to you.
From the information you have provided it seems to be a mobile number that you are receiving the SMS from, unfortunately we are unable to bar individual mobile numbers.
It seems that if you don't reply to the messages they will stop being sent, I would agree with you all to not reply to this number and fingers crossed, they stop quickly.
All the best,
Kay

Kay - that's exactly what one of your colleagues said to me, but the number that texted me suddenly got ported to O2, who say "go to the police" and washed their hands of it.
It's not a criminal/police matter at present, as it involves a mobile network customer breaking the terms and conditions they signed up to when taking out the contract/PAYG SIM, as well as a breach of the DPA and TPS rules, and these come under civil law, IIRC.0 -
I know this is a bit late in this thread but just to register another number that I have just recieved the exact same text from 07833 944 643. Just so if others google the number it comes up with something a bit quicker. Nuisance.0
