Lee - I know that too

Unless the ambulance chaser lawyers secretly have one

A search on ukphoneinfo.com reveals that 07881 numbers are registered to Vodafone - so it may be worth notifying them? (As they would have issued the number)Watch this space...0

Interesting to read this, as my husband got an unsolicited call from an accidents company the other week. They said they'd heard he'd had an accident in his car and did he want to pursue a claim. The 'accident' was over 2 years ago, it involved someone reversing into his car. No-one was hurt, there were no witnesses and the insurance company settled on equal blame. There was a dent to my husband's car door. We couldn't believe his details had been sold on to an accident company for such a piffling little bump. As far as we were concerned, it's over & dealt with. All I can say is these companies must be desperate for business.
Are you sure its because you had an accident? I have had these texts and never had a car accident. Maybe they send them out to everyone they can on the basis at least some of them would have had car accidents.0 -
Okay, just found out recently from Vodafone that this number has been ported to O2: Voda are washing their hands of my complaint under Data Protection and say I should contact O2.
I've contacted O2, and they're insisting that I involve the police for something that they should be able to deal with.0 -
Hi, I've just had a similar text from +447948787255 so it looks like they've changed/added numbers. Not had an accident, not made a claim, not signed up to any text message services (other than my bank - who I'm hoping I can trust with info!). In case its phishing for valid phone numbers I've decided not to reply STOP.0

Yeah, had two of these today from 07926015558. They're chancers whoever they are because I've never had a car accident in my life. They can't even spell properly so god knows how they're going to win me £3750 in compensation.
I would imagine that the target numbers are being randomly generated because my phone is literally 4 days old with a brand new number which I've given to only 4 people. Whatever you do, DON'T text "STOP" back, don't text anything, as that'll only confirm that your number is active with a real person at the end of it, in which case you can almost certainly guarantee more spam.
These messages are despicable. It's one thing getting e-mail spam, I've got a spam filter for that, but it's difficult to sheild yourself from SMS spam. :mad:
I'll be waiting to see if they give up, many more texts and I guess I'll have to report this to the callers network operator.0 -
I recently had a home call with a recorded message saying they understood I had had a car accident in the last few years and may be able to claim. Lazy so-and-so's don't even make ther own calls anymore.0
-
Do people actually listen all the way through these recorded messages? Whenever I get one I just hang up. If the company cannot be bothered to have a real person on the phone when I answer I cannot be bothered to deal with them.

backtoblack - if the caller's network is O2, they'll tell you to go to the police, which, imo, is total b.s. as it's a communications network issue not a criminal matter.0

Hi,
It's nothing but ambulance chasers looking for business.
They have simply bought a mobile numbers database and sent the same message to thousands of people.
I wouldn't text the word 'stop' like they request you to . All this does is confirm to them that the number is not a dud, and they will resell your active mobile phone number to another company.Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0
