    Good morning,

Waves to 40somethingmum - nice to see you here :hello:

I seem to have to keep writing letters now on weekly basis. I have to say that on Saturday I got really depondent when there was two letters from DCAs waiting for me here after nice but very exhausting day.

I managed to make contact with Ll0yds themselves and hoping that we could get F&F agreed just to find out that they have passed on my debt on to 5th DCA. So back to square one on that one.

With NW personal loan I am now offering 40% and hoping that it will get accepted. I am thinking on booking another BR date and if 3 weeks before that date I haven't got this mess sorted then I just write to everybody saying that this is my final offer, there is nothing else I can do and on date x I will go BR and then just do it. At least one way or another there would be end to this.

NW cc is the biggest nightmare. M00rcroft wants over £8k for £11k loan as a partial settlement where they would not chase it anymore. But they don't say that they wouln't then sell the rest on and someone else would chase me. I went back with conter offer of £3k as F&F and now got a litigation warning. Will send a copy of my previous letter and explain again my situation and make sure they understand what F&F really means. Won't pay a penny unless it is clear that nobody can come after me re this debt.

M&$ cc has been also bouncing from one DCA to another. Last time I got contacted by doorstep collectors. They really are trying to scare me. Have written to them - now waiting for reply. The pattern is that after they get my SOA they just pass my case on. It is so frustrating.

Council or bailiffs don't accept my claim that bailiffs have charged me unlawful fees. I need to call National Debtline today to get some help with this. I am quite tempted to write to both of them saying that please do take me to court and lets see what they say about these charges. We are talking about £200.00 here. I know I could scrape it together but this is more of a principal now plus I really need that money elsewhere. Especially as now when I am earning more council kindly withdrew my council tax benefit and I now need to find monney for one off c tax payment of £400 due on 1st of March.

I have decided not to go to my niece's confirmation. The flights for 3 of us would be over £500 plus car park £80 plus petrol to Heathrow. And after Saturday I realised that I am really not that hardy yet so I would find the trip too exhausting - especially with a 5 year old.

    Tasks today:
    - write two letters to DCA
    - call National Debline and write to council cc bailiffs re unlawful fees
    - call ACCA and finally sort out my online access so I can book my exams
    - update spreadsheets to see how much I have left after I pay ACCA my annual fee, exemptions and exams and to council that c tax that is due next week
"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

  • Hugs Marru you've alot on your plate

I know its hard not to go to family things - when you are so far away - whilst the logisitics are sligthly different - we often have to do the weigh up the money bit and either bite the bullet and go 'south' or stay here - trips like that are exhausting and TBH I think you've made a good choice

I just wanted to say - you're working so hard for you and DD - you're really an inspiration throughout all of the challenges you are finding time to post here and elsewhere, be thoughtful and still up with the larks writing letters.

I'd seriously look at whichever path will give you some peace and if it is BR then I'd be inclinded to really put that to your creditors and let them see - OK its time for the gloves off - when things are affecting your dreams etc - you have to keep yourself and your health in mind.

GRRR to s**Dding balliffs - I hate bullies.

Just read back your posts and see how well informed you are now and what brilliant progress you're making!!

Just my ramblings!! Keep well and cheers for the loan of the phone!! xx
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Thanks Fay for your lovely post.

Latest here is that my F&F for my biggest loan - NW personal - has been accepted!!! They will mark my credit file as partially satisfied so I will need to find out if this is something that would disappear in 6 years from my file or not. If it disapears eventually then sod it I just want to get rid of it and not argue about it any further.

I have Msc in Economics my main subject was accounting and I am sitting here trying to make sense of my council tax bill. It just doesn't add up. I think I need to dig further back to find out where the difference is. I tried to call National Debtline but the line was too busy and I couldn't get through so I am just going to send council a letter - cc bailiffs - repeating that the fees are unlawful, copy the stuff from National Debtline website (using a highlighter!!!) and invite them to take me to court. I would just like to put into the letter what my total owing is to them (after their last change when they took my council tax benefit off from me) but I don't seem to be able to figure it out.

Cup of tea and some digging into the archives for me then...

EDIT: Managed to figure out the ctax bills now and it all reconciles off to write a nasty letter...

Back from nice weekend with BF. I have been fed so well it will be a real disappointment having to eat my own food again :o.

I got last bits of my study material last week. I will need to do 43 study sessions (each taking about 2.5 hours to complete) plus revision plus mock exams and my real exams are in first and second week of June. And this is only 2 units out of 10 I have left to do after my excemptions . So I need to do one session per day 4 days a week to take me to middle of May giving me couple of weeks for revision etc.

Luckily no dog walking this week so I can move my running days around as I am really tired today. It seems that my first study session is pretty easy so after that is done it is early to bed for me. I am not allowed to log back here until tomorrow so wishing everyone a lovely Monday evening!

    Must dash...

Got really kicked today. Council sent letter saying that they won't intervene between me and bailiffs and that I should pay and that the bailiff activity is still continuing. I need to get some more information as that is the only thing that keeps me going otherwise I would just give up on everything.

    Steps:
    - find out if actually levy on my car was made
    - If not then the law is on my side and I can keep sending letters
    - If yes then fight about the excessiveness of the charges.

    Also:
    - Still need to find out how having one of my loans marked as partially satisfied affects my credit rating in the long run
    - Write letter to one bank to complain about their DCA

On the positive note, I have got now email from Guide Dogs re the 10k Bupa run in London 31st of May. I need to fill their online application to then find out if I get the place. I need to get £300 sponshorship for it. Oh and a training plan.

So next three months I will be
    - Studying
    - Running
    - Dealing with my debts

Which reminds me, need to figure out child care for DD for April holidays, can't take time off from work at the moment.

A plan is always a good start to dealing with things. Good luck with your bailiff/levy issue. I don't the ins & outs but am sure people round here will help ;)

Let me know if you get onto the BUPA run & I'll sponsor you for sure :A

It seems that they do have a levy to the car. Actually car in question has gone into the graveyard of all cars that are not economical to keep fixing. I should have called National Debtline but I haven't been able to apply myself. BF is coming here later today and I am sure he will tell me off for doing nothing about it.

Also got letter from the DCA that I was going to complain about. The positive note is that this is the first time they actually send me something else than bog standard letter but the downside is that all the information they asked I have already provided to them in numerous letters I have sent them. So I will just write another one. Grrrr.

I filled the Guide Dogs form and sent it. They will call me in couple of days so that I can pay the deposit and then I would think that my donation page will be set up. I do have now a training plan, you can find it HERE. I am a bit mad as I have only this week been running 2 miles in one go and aiming for a 3 miler tomorrow morning and already I was looking at half marathon for September. I didn't sign up as want to see how my training for the 6.25 miler in the end of May goes.

I am behind with this weeks studies and desperately need to catch up. I think I will do the elearning bit now while waiting for BF and hopefully will get chance over the weekend to get up to date. Oh and BF will make me to get up to date with my letter writing.
