Buying sofa from DFS

I have been looking for a sofa and the only one I like is from DFS. Not keen to buy from them due to bad publicity. The size is H 90m width 213 and depth 96 cms. How will this get through the door, I forgot to ask whether they can be assembled inside? Does anybody know, the door is standard size? Thanks

if its really 90m high, itll never go through any front door that ive ever seen.
apart from the doors on the VAB NASA building in florida.

If it's of a large nature it is likely some thought has been put into how it can fit into standard properties. Can you pop back in there and work out if it can be dismantled? Or even give them a call.

    sofa's come already built/made/assembled
the only parts that are likely to be detachable are the feet (& they arnt always detachable)

based on the stuff DFS show on the tv & in their other adverts, if they are the only place youve seen one you like, youve got no style or taste
they are really horrid, quickly dating, lumps of rubbish

have you looked in a proper furniture retailer?
not DFS, sofas'r'us, crapsofaworld or whatever their called this week

Not completely true. If the sofa has a reclining option , these can be dismantled .

theres also one company that makes a sofa called "sofa in a box".
the back is seperate from the main part. and the feet have to be installed.

    BTW
normal sofas fit into 99% of front doors.
    Get some gorm.

We ordered a sofa from https://www.thomaslloyd.co.uk and it was slightly too wide to go through the front door. The delivery man had a screwdriver and he took the front door off it's hinges and then screwed it back on when they'd got the sofa in!
Here I go again on my own....

    Still must disagree
Back , comes off , height is therefore lower

I have the sofa and the door to prove it :D
  • The good news is DFS have a sale on...........

    Must end soon though!
  • I imagine all you'd need to do is give the sofa a hefty shove. Given the quality and workmanship of DFS sofas I'm sure the sofa would oblige by collapsing and hey presto it will fit through the doorway without a problem!

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'd only buy from DFS if it was a sofa you're putting in a room for show i.e. you don't plan to sit on it. Much better to wait for a sale somewhere else and pick up a better quality sofa that might last longer than a year. Ever wonder why DFS have sales on for 90% of the year?!
