thanks thats certainly given me something to think about! i may just go and annoy them and make them let me have a play with the internet and try it out! :rotfl:
You're welcome. Maybe others on here may have persisted more with the job viewing/accepting more on it than I have and managed to get around the security issues on a lot of the sites.0 -

I have done so many electrical and computer shop MS, yet I still don't know whether a laptop or netbook would be best for me.
I have a samsung NC10 which is great for MSing. Great for carrying about, easy to use in the car for filling out reports and has bluetooth so you can transfer files from your phone without difficulty.0 -

No, I wouldn't get a BlackBerry as you won't be able to accept jobs with it. If you want something you can, I'd get an Iphone. I have a BlackBerry Pearl which is really quick for typing on, as it's a qwerty keyboard - ok for email alerts but not for accepting jobs or even viewing briefs as attachments open too small to read anyway, well, pdf ones do anyway. But then again, I get it as part of my full time jobs, but wouldn't buy one.0 -

Hubby is getting me a Netbook for Xmas so I can get emails and view jobs while out and about (I was at Lakeside on Wednesday, got 3 emails on my phone offering jobs in Lakeside but couldn't access the sites to accept them - ). He's done lots of research and is probably going to get me the Asus EeePC 1005HA mainly due to the huge battery life - over 8 hours - all the others are only a couple of hours which isn't much use if you're out all day.I hate him - I couldn't understand a word of what he said in The Office as he used to just mutter allt he time. No idea why there was all the hype about it!We’ve had to remove your signature. Morning all!! Just thought I would share this with you - went to the cinema last night "undercover"
and saw that new Ricky Gervais film, (it was our choice what to see and what a bad choice it was). What a complete load of ********, really boring and quite a few people walked out!! So, if you were thinking of going to see it DON'T, choose something else. Have a good day everyone :j

I have a Blackberry Bold and I love it. :heartsmil
It took a whole three days fiddling to get all the settings right for Java etc but I can access everything for MS and accept job alerts. All attachments open including pdfs and I have a fairly large font setting etc as I have too with my rotten eyesight so everything is really readable particularly if you set it to Column View rather than the default page....I find for small audits I can enter info as I go into the spreadsheets and email them off quicker than quick so the job is done! I don't write long reports up on it though as I prefer to sit on the computer when I get home with a cuppa, this forum and an online game of scrabble as distractions when I am stumped for something different to say ....not to mention the ease of cut and paste from the stored stock answers I have gathered over the years.
The Blackberry is great but you just need to have the time to get to know it and figure it all out.....I have no idea about the computer jargon etc but I just played around till I got it to work....The only thing I do find irritating however is I still haven't worked out how to save my passwords for the MS sites. It can be a bit of pain having to type them in each time I log in but to make it easier for myself I have chosen an easy one and it’s the same for most sites.
Sorry to ramble on but I find it so quick and it's much faster than my sister's i-phone service.

Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me out here. I did a casino job last night and it says in the notes I was to phone back today and pose as a new member wanting to join and see how many rings it took to answer the phone etc. Anyway I called there and it rang onto its answering machine. Should I call back later or should I say in my report that I tired to call but there was no reply and it went onto an answering machine?0 -

lol it can be good sometimes if you are genuinely looking for something and want assistance as not only do you get their help but you get paid for it!
I think a net book would be great for out and about but I definately couldn't have one as my only computer, screen way to small for the amount of time I am online!
Thanks for your comments Rosy Violet, just been to Vodafone and had a play with a Bold and I liked itShe left me to my own devices on the internet so I had a play and went on a few sites to see what it was like. Totally changed my mind about the Storm, scroll bar was horrible and I would probably end up throwing it at a wall in frustration!
They didn't have any in stock anywhere in Norwich though which is a shame as I could have spent all day tomorrow playing with it inbetween munching all my junk food for pizza and burger MS's! Getting one on Monday hopefully so will probably have to wait til next weekend to work out how to use it :jMystery Shopping £1147/£2000 (Jan) :j
