Lol, I know! I know I shouldn't have been but I was shocked! I know men must mystery shop too but I had it my head it would be a woman!

    We are out there....!
Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.

Be careful - concentrating too hard on mystery shopping can be bad for your health! I did an assignment this morning at our local train station and I had to ask for directions as part of it. I asked where the toilets were and thought I should use them. Just for authenticity of course. As I was going in I heard an announcement on the tannoy to say that the train coming through wasn't stopping. It was one of those slow, cargo carrying ones, very noisy. I went in the cubicle and, I suppose I must have realised an alarm bell was going but if I thought anything it was that it was something to do with the big heavy train. Anyway, I came out of the toilets to an empty platform on my side, empty platforms on the other side and nobody around at all. As I was on my way out anyway I went to the ticket hall and saw people making their way back in and heard an announcement saying that there had been a false fire alarm. It hadn't occurred to me that it was a fire alarm, I was concentrating so hard on remembering what the assistant looked like, what she'd said and how I was going to spend the fiver I would make. Just goes to show that I should still have been alert to the real world and not just the mystery world!

Do you live in a remote place?

Or is it a particular company as this rarely happens for me.

I live in the Oxford area.
I mainly do video visits and because there are realatively few video shoppers we are given the mileage allowance as an incentive to travel further to get all the jobs done.
If it weren't for mystery shopping I would never have discovered the joy of launch control.

I need to pick the brains of any MSers who have done car circuits. Is it a disadvantage to know absolutely nothing about cars? Do you always ring the garage before you go to tell them you are going in and want to chat about it to someone? And can/do you normally take notes? That's what I would be doing if I was genuine but...I don't know with this?
    Help!!!
    Thanks guys

I have never phoned them before! I usually write notes and I have a peep online at the spec of car so I know the difference incase they try to sell me a similar car. Once you get into them (and avoid the manager coming over trying to get you to put money down INSTANTLY) its no bad.

Thanks for that. Do you take notes when the guy is talking to you too? Cos I would if I was a real buyer...I'm a great one for notes :)
