had an assignment query with RE the other day - had logged in and found that they were needing a couple of comments where I hadnt left comments. I emailed the proofreading address the same morning - Monday and the query is still showing - how long does it normally take for them to resolve the query?Weight Loss - 102lb0

Hoping someone can give me some advice.
I've been asked by GFk be email to do a job urgently (today) and they offered to negotiate the fee. I explained it would be difficult and would take about 2 hours to do and asked what they thought would be a fair fee. They emailled back asking me to make a suggestion. I haven't the time to play silly beggars. Should I just ask for double the fee? Does anyone know if they will pay toward the fuel?
This is the first time I've been asked at short notice, and not sure what the protocol is?
Thanks for any replies.0 -

I'd work out (based on 40p a mile) how much it will cost you to go to the job and add that onto the current fee plus a bit extra for short notice. However obviously use a bit of common sense0 -

Don't mind flying either if they make it worth my while, but I don't like to be away for long as I miss the wife and kids. £20 for an 84 mile round trip sounds very reasonable - here's hoping you get offered a lot more like that.
Do you live in a remote place?
Or is it a particular company as this rarely happens for me.0 -
Hey all,
I have been offered an assignment to do a phone call for a car dealership for OC - does anyone know if you need to actually be a driver to do this as I only have a provisional license?
I couldn't see anything mentioned in the brief or the questionnaire, except they should ask about points on your license (easy enough to say it's clean though). My IE keeps crashing when I try to email them  so thought i'd see if anyone here knows!
Thanks!2019 will be my year!!0 -
I had a similar situation with Gfk a few days ago. I asked for double the fee and they gave it to me easily. I was happy with that, maybe could have got a little more but it seemed OK.
GFK are pretty reasonable. I am doing 2 Gov offices for them tomorrow and they have almost trebled the fee, covering my round trip mileage, parking at 2 towns, and time taken.
As long as you are realistic, they will be happy to agree your fee if they can.0 -
I offered 2 1/2 times the fee and they said that was fine. Thanks for the replies.0

i would give them a call as this happened to me and they claimed they had not received the email. i just did it over the phone and they were fine about it. make sure you have not been docked any points if they say they didn't receive your email as they expert you to reply within 24 hours of raising the query.
i have replied to the proof reading query via email before and had a response within 10 mins thanking me and it was removed from the query section straight away. sounds like they have not recieved/actioned your response :mad:Mystery Shopping £1147/£2000 (Jan) :j
