  • I've worked for E-- for over 4 years, during this time a supervisor issued you with your work, and I have always completed assignments to their satisfaction. However this online allocation of jobs seems unfair. I have applied for dozens of jobs, heard nothing for weeks and then and received very few. So disappointed with them, so much for loyalty :(

    Quick question! Are Aba worth signing up too? I know its not as straight forward as signing up to other MS companies and they seem to work in a different way.

    There are pluses and minuses with every company. For ABai, IMO:

    Pluses: their questionnaires are usually fairly straightforward;

    Their pay is OK on the whole

    Some of their clients are ace: (IMHO) Petrol, catalogue shops (v straightforward)

    You can self assign as long as you get there quickly enough

    I've had almost no hassle or queries from them, which is a big plus

    Minuses: you are only given 2-3 days from when the job comes up on their website to do the job, so no chance of forward planning;

    They only offer a 'reward' and no re-imbursement so for some clients they are only worthwhile doing if you would be buying from there anyhow

    Some of the jobs involve buying something and then returning it later the same day which can be time-consuming and you may not be comfortable with returning items for no good reason (although after MSing for a while you find you are pretty thick skinned)

    You have to sign up for each client separately, see the first few posts for details. Worthwhile having a go when you are bored one day then next time there is an alert, dive over there ASAP.

    Personally I pretty much only do the petrol and catalogue shops now, but have done lots of the discount clothes shops in the past. They also pay in a rather unusual way!

    Thanks for the replies folks. It's good to get a feel of what other people are doing.

    I'm in a small town with only other small towns nearby. Have done better for jobs than I thought I would. Suppose it's a case of less jobs than the cities but less shoppers to go for them as well. I expect to struggle a bit when the ' can't shop twice in a row/can't shop again for 3 months' rules start to kick in. Might have to go further afield then.

    I thought the same Borders, but I seem to have settled in to near enough a routine of doing jobs when I can in the every other month/once a quarter cycle without having to go further afield like I thought I would - don't forget that there will be jobs you haven't seen in your local towns because other people got to them first!
    It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

    TBH Bare do that as well. I have applied for jobs and they are still pending after days, whereas others i have been accepted for in 10 mins. i think for some clients they wait and see who applies and give it to the more experienced shoppers. worth continuing with them as i have eventually been given a few. got a 10/10 for my report on mon so hopefully that will impress them in the future! :j

    i was lucky with esa as they begged me to do two jobs a few days after joining and i was able to do them so think that probably makes them more inclined to give me jobs! still don't get everything but they seem happy to give me pharmacies! :o

    Have to echo this.
    applied for jobs -didnt get any.
    phone call for jobs i didnt get.
    Did the jobs
    had regular work since,although it is a bit random.
    My favourite company to date.

    Well - thats a bsy day done - 6 shops/audits - mostly for ESA who called me to do work, and upped the fees and one for ABA-i who called whilst I was out and paid over double the normal rate. 135 mile round trip, 7 hours including travel and 3 hours inputting results.

    Easy day of 2 tomorrow - only a 70 mile round trip to do them!
