Hello everyone,
I am a 25 year old student and I work 8 hours a week part time. I am very intrested in becoming a mystery shopper and was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions.
When do I need to register as self-employed?
How many jobs do you guys do a month?
(1) So that you are registered to pay tax EDIT: Sorry, I read your question as WHY do I need to register as self employed ... durr ... sorry ... you need to register within 3 months
(2) As many as you want .. they are mainly self allocate. I aim for at least 10 jobs a week. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

1 - You need to register ASAP but I think you MUST do it within 3 months of your first job. I rang them up and they were really helpful on the phone. More details in the first post of this thread.
2 - I work full time and try to fit in 3-4 a week, but like TractorGirl says you do as much or as little as you want to do.0 -
Finally got my payment from GAP, 2 months late and less than it should be but I am cutting my losses and taking it!0

Gosh I'm worn out already - 5 stamp shops and 4 garages before 1pm today.
Just written up the stamp shops and realised that one of them I visited the wrong place! Presumed it was the one that I've been to before but didn't realise there was another one nearby. Never mind, only posted a letter and bought a savings stamp so nothing lost. Just need to do the other one tomorrow as it's not far away. Thanks goodness Gap are easy to reschedule.0 -
Hi there, I'm a student eight hours a week, apparently that's full time! No jobs around due to the current climate... Is it okay for a student to do mystery shopping?0

I'm a student so yes! As for registering as self-employed, it's so easy I was shocked!
I started shopping mid-oct and atm am doing about 5 jobs a week.0 -
