  • I agree with TractorGirl. They were quite happy to extend one job for me in the past but I think if the jobs are coming to the end of the cut off point, they are less accommodating as obviously they have strict deadlines to meet.

anyone know which company does mystery shop for the high street catalogue store

I do video shops for them, but not sure if the same company does written visits.
If I knew how to PM I'd tell you (I am a complete forum beginner), but if you PM me I will reply
If it weren't for mystery shopping I would never have discovered the joy of launch control.

I think it depends when the "cut off" date for the project is. I've always found them very accommodating but last week I wanted to extend a "discount designer store" and they said no as the end date was last Friday.

The one I extended was a 'new' job - I applied as soon as it appeared on their website, but couldn't do it within the statutory 3 days, and only asked for an extra day to do it...

This was all some time ago and probably irrelevant now anyway...

If you click on a persons username in the top left of their post it brings up a few options. One of them is "send a private message to xxx".
  • My apologies if my questions were answered earlier and I just couldn't see the answer.
    1) Why sometimes on GAP you can't apply for a few jobs.. they are there.. you can see them, but they are in light grey? Before I thought that someone is in the process of booking them, but they managed to remain light grey for more than 24 hours now.

    2) ABA - I don't seem to find even one job on the site for months now... I tried ringing and e-mailing them but no answer. How often do they have jobs in the South?

I've noticed a petrol job like this today. I wonder whether it's because it's passed the last date that it can be shopped by??

I have just received an email from a certain HARD WORK company (mentioning no names) about a shop I did for them earlier in the week. The store are questioning some of my responses. The responses are regarding uniform (or lack of). The two staff members who served me were not wearing the specified uniform. if they were, they had thrown scruffy random sweatshirts over the top (which were not uniform - granted - it was cold in the shop but I'm just reporting the truth)
I have given said MS company more information now by reply of email.

My question is, willI now be marked down because they had to contact me? I did after all answer the original questionnaire correctly, indicating Yes/No as required, and there was no facility to eleborate further on the questionnaire.
Also, given this MS company's reputation, am I now likely to be removed from shopping for this client just because I told the truth?

    Hope that made sense!
Thanks in advance for any reponses

I've been with them for a while and also live in the south, have found jobs do not appear very often at all but I don't have all the companies they shop. I did a shop for them last week but before that I can't even remember the last time I did one! Sorry can't be more helpful.
  • I've just got back from a shop at a posh sandwich store and as I walked down the street a massive gust of wind blew the receipt out my bag and carried it off down the road, shortly after I'd thought "ooh that receipt looks a bit precarious". People gave me very strange looks as I pelted past them chasing a tiny scrap of paper. Finally caught up with it AFTER it had blown accross a very busy London street and was just about to blow down a drain! Haha, the trials of a mystery shopper :)
