I think the issue with ABAi is that they're a small outfit (or they seem so to me) and so they want to start getting results back asap. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes when they receive our reports, but I'm sure it's not just a case of pressing the "forward" button on an email!
So, whilst they may well be able to wait a few weeks for some jobs to be done, they don't want to be waiting weeks for them ALL to be done. Their strict deadlines frustrate me a little but I can see why they do it. The longer in advance that you allow someone to book a job, the more chance there is of something happening that means they can't do it. With the ABAi jobs, you can go out and do it within minutes of accepting it (indeed I once complete a jewellery visit to and had the results submitted back to them within 30 minutes of accepting the job).
On the flip side, I have on two occasions needed an extension to filling in the results for visits. Once just by a day, once by three days. Both times they were ok with this.
I don't know why you've encountered a bad attitude from them, as I've dealt with a few of the peeps there and always found them to be nice to talk to (and email to), maybe you just caught someone having a bad day - no excuse, but it happens to us all from time to time.
Th best thing to have done would've been to ring them and ask for an extension, the liklihood is that they'd have said yes, particularly is you regularly do jobs that are 100's of miles away.
Maybe think of it like this, what if, when you cancelled the job, the account manager received an email to tell them. They then immediatley pickup the phone to call another shopper to ask them to do it, only for them to receive another email saying you've re-booked it, just as the other shopper was agreeing to do it. Highly unlikely, but possible...
Take it on the chin and call it a lesson learned. :beer:0 -
Hiya!
Can anyone help me out with a little ESA question?
If you're doing a shop for them and it requires a purchase, do they refund this on top of your 'pay'. It doesn't make it very clear in the assignment notes other than giving a limit for the spend.

Yes, you will get the amount of your purchase on top of your fee; up to the maximum that they state in the brief. So if it says £3 and you spend £2.33 you will get the £2.33 back as well as the fee but if you spend £3.33 you will get £3 plus fee.0 -
Has anyone else found that the reimbursement does not cover the cost of the meals and drinks you have to order for RE at the fishy restaurant. No fee offered and a very long questionnaire also.
I know it is nice to get a meal, but surely the reimbursement should cover the total cost of what they ask you to order, does not even cover the cheapest items.0 -

Yes they wont even let you get the special offer menu. I steer clear of them nice though the food is.0 -
