At work awaiting the start of an 'evening weekend class' away to assess our plot the plan is to make a 1/2 size allotment with the evening class folks and today after that we are also away out to see a tomato grower (hopign for freebies!) DD with me as Can't trust her and DS on own for 3+hours and NO childcare :) she's parked on the other work PC!

I go on the theory that as sugar is a preservative it can't go out of date  I'm still working through the zillions of tubs of sugar decorations I got really cheap last year when supercook changed packaging to Dr Oetker brand. Think I still have about 40 tubs to use yet:rotfl: Good job DD is very active or she would be enourmous:p
Good luck with the tomatoes :D

    Hello,

Seems that everybody have been extremely busy. Well done!! :T

Fay and SM - HSbowdown.gif And thank you for the yoghurt tip. I was only yesterday thinking that I should really give yoghurt making another go.

I thought that my laptop had gone bust but after lots of swearing (silently of course) I am back online. Woohoo!

    Today:
    - Resume doing scratchies etc
    - Provide copy of utility bill for bingo site to be able to withdraw £59.- :j
    - Make blackberry crumble from berries picked up this morning
    - Washing quick 30 and then dry outside
    - Continue what seems never ending spreadsheet busting

    Agree re the twins :rotfl:

    Hi all,

I too hope desperately that the twins don't go through - they are bit too Village of the Damned for my liking. :p But I think that Louis likes them like that.
Very impressed with all the cooking going on - SM and Fay have inspired me! I am going to make bread and scones and banana loaf whilst making dinner tonight. Thanks for noting my absence SM, that was really sweet!

(BTW Fay, I assure you that was not me singing. I would never inflict that on anyone! And T saw your avatar pic earlier and said you looked like 'his date!').

    Today I
    1) SC 20p + 10p
    2) Made a yummy soup out of butternut squash and sweet potatoes. Mmmmm.
    3) Responded to enquiries re some items I have put on Netmums.
    4) Took some unsalvageable bits to the tip, to make more room to move in the house.
    5) Had a carbootytastic afternoon. :jLego and a Next coat for T, books for me and some guitar sheet music books for B that I shall put away for Christmas. She has asked for them new before and they were 50p each!
    6) Returned yet more mouldy pasta to Somerfield for a replacement and made a vow never to buy any from there again!:o
    7) Got replacement toileteries out of stash and refilled soap dispensers with cheap bubble bath.

Right, off to cook up a storm before X-factor. Fingers crossed for wise decisions, L x

    Update -

Well, I have been more productive than yesterday, but have now come to a shuddering halt - and put the heating on

My excuse is that I feel shivery because of my cold. It is cold and miserable outside and the dogs are asking to be taken out. I let them out into the garden but they told me in no uncertain terms that that doesn't count!

So I will have to wrap up warm and brave the elements in a minute

However, I have made a nice pie filling from shrivelled apples, blueberries and a dried up orange (zest and what juice there was), and ratatouille to use up the last of the peppers, aubergines and courgettes from the garden. I have also cleaned out the fridge, and found a pineapple I had forgotten about on the kitchen table (as you do) and peeled and cut it up and put it in the fridge for snacking.

Also made some of SM's quark cheese out of the HM yogurt that was lurking in the fridge - thanks for that SM! I used to make more complicated cheese in days gone by, with proper moulds and stuff, but had forgotten how easy this one is :T

Not much tidying has gone on though
