Rang Tesco customer service's who said that they should have accepted the coupon. They said to take it back to the store though and ask for it back next time I go in!
Not sure if I would be better writing to them like you say groovygirl.
That happened to me also when I rang, I went back into store and there was such a problem when I asked for a gift card, we got it in the end though. Good luck.0 -

Oh no! Well won't be going there this week anyway as am going to go to Morrisson's to use the £5 NOTW voucher so it will have to wait until next week. Will let you know how I get on.
The girl on the phone said it is the store's discretion whether they do it or not???!!!0
