I know what you mean about the pots or envelopes in my case it is a flawed system and too easy to get at IYKWIM, I will also have to do something about my system

I keep my 'pot' in the credit union so I cant get at it so easily as if it was showing on my internet banking IYSWIM.

That is the one flaw with internet banking (apart from if you have a power cut, or forget your password)......it is too easy to move money about.

Now, of course, I have been grateful for this ease many a time in the past, and it has contributed to the fact that I no longer have daily bank charges thrown at me left right and centre, but I think it makes me lazy to a certain extent because I can see that there is available money, and therefore use it rather than work another way around it in the shorter term.

The egg accounts are quite good, because although it is "instant access", it takes about 3 days to actually reach the place you want it to be, so I can't transfer it and instantly go to the cash machine or to Tesco. So a bit of a delay is a good thing really (like not going supermarket shopping when you are hungry, type thing!).

Anyway, I quite like the idea of weekly pay, so hopefully it will work well - only time will tell though! Watch this space.

Systems always need tweaking to cope with current conditions - I have a new system a pink notebook to write finances in having it all on the computer just doesn't work - wish it was purple but a pink one came in a pack and was lying around spare :rotfl:

I have a notebook too, well, a diary actually, but mine IS purple......:cool: I used to try and keep everything on a spreadsheet, which worked fine when I was working from home, with constant access to the computer, but no good when I started working in the office again, because I couldn't access my spreadsheet from work, so had no idea what was what!
