Right.....
As you know, flylady and I have an on/off relationship.....when we are together, we are good for each other, then when we drift apart, life becomes muddled and unhappy.
So.....I found myself hunting for a cleaner......can get one for £8.50 an hour for 3 hours a week = £25.50.
Hurrah, I thought, I can move on from my previous failed attempts at a relationship, and get another woman in  I have tried counselling, I have tried "the silent treatment" and I really thought the time had come to call it a day.
But something stopped me from doing the dirty (no pun intended).....If flylady and I make the effort, and I DO accept that there is probably more input needed on my part in this relationship), that is the equivalent of £5 not spent on "the other woman" for every day that I do what I need to do.......(it is a mid week relationship only - I need my weekends to recover), and not only that, but I will also have 50p left over to buy a bag of minstrels on a Saturday morning
So, flylady and I are agreeing to give it another go......and for £5 a day where the list is completed, to go into my "moving house" (ie pay off the mortgage) fund.
I'm not sure which I am most looking forward to - an extra £100 a month going to the mortgage.........or the minstrels on a Saturday :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I've been AWOL for months but finally back on MSE. I've tried to catch up with your diaries, but you were half way through the last one when I was last on properly (early August) and you're almost at the end of this one so I've afraid I've given up.

ermmm..."kitchens can be difficult to decorate at christmas"? does everyone else decorate their kitchen? noone I've ever met has:o.... lounges, dining rooms, halls, gardens maybe but the kitchen?
or is it just Kirsty?
My flat only got Xmas decorated on Xmas day last year.I only finished cleaning the place at 11.55am (noon is when everyone was due). The 1st arrivals got given the box of decorations to go mad with.
I didn't have a proper tree last year as I was hosting Xmas and I can't seat that many round my table without moving it to the livingroom (only everyone forgot to bring chairs! :rotfl:) and then there is no room for a tree too.
Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

I like your logic on the 'other woman' hypno. I would say look forward more to the minstrels :rotfl:
Have a good holiday if I don't catch up again before you go (and i probably won't) I am pleased to hear that it will be a lappie free holiday. It will be a bit 'cold turkey' for you no doubt but at least it means I have more chance of keeping up!ha ha
Seriously though - enjoy!!DFW Nerd #11520 -

It's got to be worth a try Hypno. I'll be watching with interest
.
You'll effectively be paying yourself minimum wage and a bonus (minstrels), and there will be something to see for all your hard work, i.e. a declining mortgage and a clean house, as opposed to the status quo, which is slave labour for little reward. You're a genius!
Think i've talked myself into it too. Only my £5.00 a weekday will be going into the 40+ and fabulous, reward pot.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
And think of the exercise - obviously saving on the gym bills too :j0

I can see I will have to take the "If you can't beat them, join them!" approach on this - it amazes me how happy having a clean and tidy flat makes me when compared to the alternative. I really must make the effort. Good luck with yours Hypno!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I have made progress with flylady recently, but I am very quick to come up with the excuses too often still.....so hopefully this will be a way of giving me some sort of motivation - I really do feel better when it is done, so I know that I am getting a real benefit from it.......my excuses therefore are really very lame!
So, when I have had another coffee I will get a move on and do the bathrooms and pay myself a fiver when it is all done to my satisfaction.....
YL, lovely to see you again!! Hope you are well - as for the "millions paid off"....hmmm...not quite but doing ok considering
tirlittan, thank you - pop out from lurkdom a bit more often! We don't bite!
