You can if you put your mind to it El!

Join in the £10 a day challenge - even £5 a day would be £1825 over the course of the year! It is amazing how quickly it all adds up!

I am a great one for joining challenges then not completing them......sealed pot, live on £4k a year, £2 collectors etc.....but the £10 a day challenge is the one I have stuck with for longest - over a year now I reckon, and it certainly suits me, and motivates me to do that mystery shop that I don't really fancy doing!

It is just a case of finding what works, then sticking with it!

  • Is it really possible to make 2k! what sort of things is this doing? I have tried £5 a day but I couldn't see what I could do to make that amount of money every day?

yes simples ...i tried the live on 4k a year one too ...think i lasted about three weeks ...that is for extreme money saving that one (totally take my hat off to those that manage it )
the pad one i quite liked and stuck too ...until i went back into the red then it made no sense to carry that one on ...making £10 a day i dont think is really possible for me with the shifts etc ...but i am thinking something along the lines of 4 takeaways a month (between the two of us) and 6 restaurant meals a year...doesnt sound like much but boy that would be a hard one in my house ...but that would be just for starters ...trying to think of other things ...

ebay, scratchcards, free bingo, mystery shopping, amazon, quidco, surveys, matched betting, car boot sales, writing reviews for dooyoo etc etc.

Have a mooch around the "up your income" board and see if there is anything that takes your fancy, and the first post on the £10 a day usually has some good ideas too.

See I'm the other way round... I really struggle with things like the £10 a day challenge / olympic challenge (from yester-year lol) / £1000 in 100 days type things.

But... I now feel guilty spending any £2 coins (even my parents are paying them into a sealed pot now lol) Give me the 4k challenge anyday... That seems to really work for me. I thought I'd never manage to stick to my £5k budget (even after being in training for part of 2008) but I've spend waaaaaaaaay less than I thought I would just by having to think about things within an overall yearly budget. See my sig... I'm hoping to come in under £4k now including all Xmas costs.

Sadly I've not made £2k from "free" stuff but I have made a worthwhile amount. I still haven't got the courage to try ebaying stuff though... :o :rotfl:

    **Debtbusting takes a back seat**

Both children have been selected for England Schools.......that means both will be off to Norway in February........which means more money.

So, for the time being it is minimums only - all extra MSE money will be thrown into the ski pot like it is going out of fashion.

I will still be debt free before I am 40......I am absolutely determined - but the winter may see a slowing up of things.
